The Rewiring.

I learnt something interesting and insightful this evening that I thought to share with y'all. Someone shared a story that goes thus;

Some scientists got a wild fish known for preying on other smaller fishes for survival. It's a very vicious and brutal kind. They got it and put it in a crystal clear aquarium. Then they got some other little fish which of course was meant to be food for this fish.

The idea was to rewire the vicious, hunting nature of this fish so what they did was they offloaded the fish in the same aquarium where the viscous fish was and watched the reaction of this brutal, no-nonsense fish and immediately, it charged toward them seeing that they were its prey.

As he approached, it felt this strong resistance that kept it off again and again as he attempted to reach them. What had really happened was that these scientists have actually demarcated the aquarium using a thick crystal glass, so both fish were on each of the divides.

After many attempts the fish gave up, it wouldn't even mind them anymore, it's got disconnected from the reality that there are actually some set of fish next to it that he would have loved to have for meal. Somehow they never existed anymore as far as its concerned, the appetite and quest to even hunt something that was in close proximity to it was gone.

Guess what the scientists did after these observations. They removed the divide and allowed them access to each other. Guess what happened afterward.... The brutal fish had lost interest, the desire to hunt these fish was gone. It has now been rewired to think it's going to be a futile effort hunting these fish because it had tried many times in the past but fail.

The divide has been taken away, what it has around now are the real fish, flesh and blood, the opportunity to hunt and get its prey was right in front of it but guess what, it has been made to believe in failure, that no matter what it does, it would never be able to get it. It has been rewired.

This is just an experiment but somehow it is applicable to us as human and how we deal with life. So many people have made several attempts at getting something in the past, they have to put in all the effort, the aggression required to get things done and the likes, yet they couldn't and somehow they have allowed pessimism and an overwhelming sense of failure has taken over their mind that even when the tide turns for them to take action and succeed, they no longer have the right mindset, the kind that is positive enough to get the goal or maximize the opportunity.

If you think you fit into this description I want to encourage you not to give up. Choose not to believe in that lie you now call your reality. Wake up and try again, you can reawaken that positive mindset that made you pursue that goal in the first place, the hindrances are no more, maybe they once existed but you've got another opportunity to give it one more try which would eventually birth that breakthrough...

Get that MIND-SET again for the the goal, its not too late!
