Was Out With The Sheep Today

Today we decided to take the sheep out to go have some fresh grass. It's been a while since they stepped out to have that kind of food. We have actually been getting them other things to eat...like wheat offal but today we decided to take them out to graze.

Taking them out was a very big work today, in fact it was so rigorous that I couldn't even take pictures since I was the one doing the hard job of pulling them to a site we found around us where there is enough grass for them to graze.

Stepping out for them was like moving out of their safety and comfort zone, I could tell, since they are now used to their new environment far from the farm they used to be to a compound where people live. So I understand if they find it quite disturbing to step out. If i could speak their language, I'ld have just said to them, "hey hold on, I only want to take you out to graze"

Grazing is what they love doing, feeding on lush green grass brings them a kind of satisfaction that they hardly get from other source of food. But here they were resisting us until we were able to finally pull them to that site we discovered. Of course they later understood that we meant good for them.

Maybe they would have cooperated with me to just lead them to abundance. Sometimes that's how we respond to God when He is trying to lead us into that very thing we desire but because we do not trust him enough nor understand His thoughts/plans for us, we begin to struggle and when we eventually surrender, we see the result and somehow we blame ourselves for struggling so long...

We felt happy seeing these animals eat to their satisfaction today and they also felt very happy eating all manner of greens they found on that site today. If they could speak our language, I know they would have screamed out a loud "Thank you for today"... because they ate to their satisfaction. Anyways this is one of the things we do as livestock farmers... Catch ya later.
