Wealth from a different perspective

Wealth: A word that conjures a mental image of an overflowing bank account and shiny treasures like gold bars, houses, a booming business or acres of land. But what if the real riches also lie elsewhere?

In some place beyond the cash and gold, there are forms of wealth we often overlook.

Probably because society teaches us to value what is tangible and is easily measurable, laying all the emphasis on cash and possessions which are straightforward, visible, and universally accepted forms of wealth.

To make sure we are on the same page, lets answer an important question; what is wealth?

Wealth is anything that holds value, generates value, or appreciates over time.

For something to be considered as a form of wealth, it typically needs to have value, be it monetary, emotional, or strategic. Just think of it like this: if it can be converted into something valuable or can improve your life in some way, it might just be a form of wealth, which money and material possessions have always been known for this.

But can you see how with the help of Steemit, experience, knowledge and skill is hanesssd and monetised while having fun and engaging in social banta. A classic example of converting brain power into gold or its equivalent.

We are in the information age and as such, information, news and the ability to propagate and manage it, is real wealth.

Other forms of wealth like real relationships and hospitality are harder to quantify, so they often get overlooked. Without any material wealth, a person who is hospitable and maintains real relationships is preferred in this time where such is hard to find. Shoutout to my maternal relatives, without any spending, they know how to make me feel welcome, anytime.

Imagine the value in a man or father who can spend time with his wife and children and they engage in activities the solidifies their relationship. Can you quantify the value of a spouse who understands the meaning of fidelity, selfless love with real emotional intelligence?

When you are healthy, you are wealthy, and if your life has a definition and clear purpose, that is wealth beyond comparing. The same applies to creativity and the ability to network and connect with others while maintaining a good reputation.
In some twisted way, resilience can be converted into wealth but the reverse is hardly possible.

A man who have created a peaceful and loving home has the type of wealth envied by those who have built many houses and can not make a home out of any.

Conclusion

Surround yourself with those who appreciate the type of wealth you have. You can have different types of wealth in varying ratios but some forms of wealth are rarely found together as they are inversely proportional. Select your wealth wisely.
