UPI Payments Under Pressure: What Happens If Merchants Start Charging Extra?

Honestly I have been busy with a lot of stuffs so can't post regularly but from now I will try my best to be regular here and in this time I am serious.

If you are living in India then you may be familiar with the upi payment system and after this everything is online and people don't even carry cash anymore and its very comfortable for everyone to be cash less because you have to carry cash if you want to purchase anything. But now after the upi payment system implemented now everything is online and you can pay money just buy scanning the barcode or the QR code.

Things are very busy after this and it is very comfortable because you don't have to worry about anything the only problem can happen if there is no network then you might be at risk. But now everywhere there is internet and if you don't have internet then that might be your problem for you. It's been more than 4 or 5 years and now people are used to eat and all of the sudden now government has implemented some kind of tax on it and it is gonna change a lot of things in our daily life.

So the good thing is the tax is only on the merchant accounts. But it is gonna affected the common man also because everyone is used to of the online payment system now but if somebody will pay money to the merchant then the merchant is not going to pay from his pocket he will ask us to pay more so he don't have to pay anything. Not sure but government is thinking but I think people will return to cash again because no one is going to pay extra for something if you can purchase it on less amount.

Not sure how this is going to go but it will be implemented soon and people are panicking I think because it's a big those because everyone are used to online transactions and if this will implement them a lot of things gonna change people will have to carry the cash again and it will be not good at all.

Maybe the government want citizens to carry more cash other than the UPI payment system because they don't want us to dependent upon the online payment system all the time not sure what they are planning. There is another theory coming about this that USA is responsible for this because earlier people use to use Visa and master cards now people don't use it anymore so it is making them lost from India because India is a very use market. So I think this may be the another reason for this not sure we will know sooner or later.
