Contest: A world without electricity

Hello friends from home and abroad, warm regards to everyone. I'm Anthony from Nigeria, and it's a pleasure to have you on my post. I'm engaging in this week's amazing Contest titled: "A World Without Electricity" organized by @afrizalbinalka.

What would happen if there was no electricity in the world?

It's fascinating to think about how our lives would change without electricity. Even though in the ancient days, there wasn't electricity light modern days today people in the olden days still looked for a source of light and fire then there where a kind of comfort that didn't have, got me reminiscing about my early age when our parents used to get kerosine and fill in the lamp just so we could see, it's a reminder to appreciate the little things we often take for granted.

Imagine a modern world without electricity. I would say it will be, though; technology as a whole will not progress without electricity. Below is the details review of the "Immediate consequences"

• Communication disruption:

This would be so frustrating experience with no phone, internet, and other electronic gadgets.

• Medical emergency:

Without electricity, electricity, Hospitals would face changes in providing medical care.

• Food and water scarcity:

The supermarket and our homes would be unable to preserve food, and good water would be scarce cos there would be no electricity or power to pump water from the ground.

Not only that, there would be an economic disaster and transportation halt because, without electricity, there would be no fuel pumps or electric cars.

Can we live without electricity?

Yes, of course, imagine there's no electricity, it will be tough but in a matter of time we will all be comfortable with living, but not now that the world has electricity it would be difficult, as I said earlier in the olden days there were living a favorable life without electricity that's why there were stronger because life then was more like "na who work go chop". In Nigeria pidgin.

Humans can adapt to living without electricity there are other alternative energy sources such as;

• Solar power
• Wind power
• Hydropower

We would 100 percent rely on manual labor, which I know we are not ready for lol.

What do you think, if humans live without electricity in this era of globalization?

If humans were to live without electricity in this era of globalization, I think it would be intensely harsh. Here are why;

Globally, trade depends on electricity in respect of communication, transportation all need electricity and financial systems such as banking, forex markets, and stock markets, Similar to online payment platforms, it won't be possible to Steemit, causing economic chaos and societal disruption, etc...

Can we create energy with simple tools in the modern era?

Yes, of course is possible to create energy with simple tools in the modern era. Details review below

• Renewable energy

Create a simple solar panel by using photovoltaic cells, wire, and a battery.

• Mechanical energy

Hand-crank generator creates a simple hand-crank generator using a DC motor, battery, and crank handle.

Convert a bicycle into a generator using a DC motor, battery, and wiring
All these would be in DC. This simple energy might not be efficient.

A world without electricity would be different from the one we know today.
