SEC - S15W5: WHICH ONE IS BETTER?

Good day Steemians,

I am so excited to be back on steemit and also participating in this week's engagement contest. I trust you all are doing fine and having a lovely and fruitful day. I was so excited about this topic when I saw it. Earlier this year, some of the points in the topic got me into deep thoughts that led me into curiosity and hunger for deeper knowledge, I had to make some research.

My choice of preference in this topic may not entirely be the best, I stand to be corrected where need be, but note that these points below are borne out of deep thoughts prior before now.

Employee or Entrepreneur

An employee simply means one who works for another person or a group of persons in order make money while Entrepreneur is a person who sits down, thinks, while in that thought he finds a problem, thinks of a solution to that problem and makes money. For instance, a person who sells water in traffic has thought of the fact that people get thirsty while on transit and they can't walk into the mall to buy water, so they start selling water to these thirsty people in traffic and they make money Or a person who has observed and seen the trouble people face whilst at the ATM to withdraw money, the stress of standing on the cue and not getting paid because of one issue or the other and he decides to take the banking business to the streets of the world in order to make money, most especially Nigeria my country. These are entrepreneurs, setting up a business to solve a problem and make money simultaneously.

Both Employees and Entrepreneurs aim towards the same goal which is to make money and they both have their different advantages and disadvantages. Now the question is which is better?

I, sincerely, will prefer being an Entrepreneur to being an Employee.

An entrepreneur is always on his toes to do better because he bears the risk of the business. He keeps to time in delivering projects because he wants to sell his brand. He can't call in sick just when he doesn't feel like working because he owns and runs the business. An entrepreneur can setup more than one business and manage it well. He enjoys financial stability because he doesn't have to wait to get paid, in fact, I call it steady flow of income.

My preference doesn't entirely condemn employee, of course, experience has to be gained before setting up a business but I prefer creating employment opportunities to occupying one.

I currently work with GIK Agric Derivatives but I am currently building a business model that I will soon share here on steemit.

Saving or Investing

Saving means keeping aside a portion of an income earned either for a specific purpose or for evaluating one's net worth.
While Investing means to commit money into a project, property or financial scheme with the expectation of earning profit.

From the definition above, savings gives nothing extra in return, instead you either get what you saved or it even depreciates in value but an invested commitment grows like planted seed in due season.

You will agree with me that we have been saving right from childhood days, but inflation has taught us to do better by investing some of our savings.

There are so many ways to invest money rather than just saving it, you can invest in cryptocurrency, real estate, foreign exchange, etc.

A man can invest in real estate by buying lands or houses and in 2 to 3 years to come, the value of these properties will appreciate and he will make profit.

I still have some crypto investments, so I urge my steemit friends to invest more than save.

Steemit or Hive

Steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media website where users can gain a cryptocurrency, more specifically STEEM, for publishing and curating content (i.e. posts). Users can also be rewarded with STEEM based on their comments. Source

This platform has been really helpful in enhancing my social life and writing skill. I mean what blogging and social media platform gives room for such growth with strict measures to follow in order to do things right in here? None. I have grown to becoming better as the day goes by. The teachings, especially from this community, is about to birth my own business. I couldn't have achieved all these without being introduced to steemit.

I haven't really done much on Hive but I learned that it seems too tedious to navigate unlike steemit. I will choose steemit today, tomorrow and everyday.
