Today we are back in the kitchen with me @chefdanie .. 😊,

In accordance with the topic of our contest, which is to prepare a recipe for Traditional Culinary Heritage. On this occasion I want to share one of the traditional recipes in Indonesia, especially in Aceh. The recipe I mean is Fried Vermicelli.

Actually, this is a very legendary recipe in our country. This is one of the very popular traditional culinary heritages. This vermicelli can be categorized as a classic dish. However, I want to try adding an additional menu in the form of shrimp or seafood. So that this dish can produce a classic and modern nuance. 😉

  • Peeled shrimp 6,

  • Seasoning / chili sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Vegetables (cabbage, bean sprouts, mustard greens, celery, spring onions, tomatoes)

  • Salt and sweet soy sauce to taste.

✅How to cook:

  • The first step is to boil the rice noodles until cooked. (You can also soak them in hot water),Then drain.

  • The second step is to prepare a frying pan, then heat 1 tablespoon of palm oil.
  • Saute the shrimp until reddish.
  • Add the spices.

Why did I choose this recipe?,,

This is a traditional recipe that my mother often prepared when I was little. I still remember well when there was a family event, my mother would prepare this rice noodle recipe. It's just that the way of serving it is still considered classic or original.

Along with the development of the times, the rice vermicelli recipe has been modified with a more modern touch and appearance. The method is to combine it with other ingredients such as processed seafood and other menus. However, rice vermicelli dishes still have unique characteristics and distinctive traditional nuances.

Generally here we often serve rice vermicelli as an appetizer. However, in several other countries, rice vermicelli can be used as a main dish. So don't be surprised, this is something normal. This is the importance of studying various cultures and gastronomy from around the world.

In our area, rice vermicelli is often served at banquets. It's like a party, a feast or a traditional event. But once again, the fried rice vermicelli recipe is not a dish that is specially prepared. Because we can also find this dish at food stalls or restaurants. Even in school canteens.
