Dust of memory and some unruly equations of the mind

in Steem Entrepreneursyesterday

How are you all? I hope that everyone is well in body and mind. And if the mind is not well, I still hope that you will find peace of mind very soon. Because, at the end of the day, being well is the most important thing.

Today, I suddenly wanted to share some random things with you. The human mind is very strange, isn't it? We don't get what we want, and what we get may never have been what we wanted. Take this, for example—forgetting. If our brain had a 'delete' or 'format' button like a computer or phone, life would have been much easier.

Today, one thing has been ringing in my mind a lot, If I could have forgotten, I would have forgotten long ago...

The word is very small, but its depth is like a bottomless ocean. We all have some chapters in our lives, some people, or some memories that we constantly want to erase. We can throw away old clothes if we want, we can change old furniture if we want, but the memories that are stored in the corners of our minds? Can they be thrown in the dustbin if we want?

If it were possible to forget at will, would anyone spend sleepless nights? Would anyone sigh looking at old chat history or old pictures? No, they wouldn't.

The problem is, our minds are very mischievous. The brain reminds us the most of the person or memory we want to forget the most. Every time you tell yourself, "I won't think about it anymore," those thoughts will come back with double force. On a rainy afternoon, or to the tune of a familiar song, or to a familiar scene seen at a street corner, the past will come and stand before us.

Sometimes I wonder why the Creator didn't give humans the ability to forget completely? Maybe he didn't because these memories are what keep us alive as humans. These hardships, this pain of not being able to forget, are the only proof that we have feelings in our hearts, that we are not robots.

Those who say, "Everything gets better with time", may be partially telling the truth. In fact, everything does not get better;r, we just learn to adapt. We learn to act like, "I am fine, I don't remember anything." But at the end of the day, when we stand in front of the mirror, we know exactly how much our hearts are crying.

So today I am not forcing it anymore. Don't let memories remain in some corner of the mind. Let dust accumulate, let spiders make their nests. If the wind comes and blows that dust away someday, let it go. And if I wanted to, if I could forget, I would have forgotten long ago; oh, this regret remains, but let that too remain. When all the regrets are resolved, the story of life will end.

Everyone will be fine. Take care of your mind. Because, at the end of the day, this "mind" of yours is your closest friend.
