Uniuyo weekly Update by @eddybless

Firstly I want to start by tendering apologies for not being able to keep my promises of always updating the Steemit community of weekly updates on happenings and developments at University of Uyo Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, popularly known as, Uniuyo.
I was so engaged with academic activities that I didn't have time for myself.

Let's go into the main business of this publication.
So many things have been going on over here in this campus so Certainly there's a lot to talk about

2020/2021 academic year freshmen (100 level) resume.

I could relate with the expression of joy by the 2020/2021 newly admitted students as the final admission from the school was as the final admission list from the school was finally released after having waited for more than a year for that to happen.
Well finally, Uniuyo had an O-20 set, Thank God for them. The days of the campus being rough had long gone so they won't be much news of harassment of the freshmen.

SUG elections.

It might interest you to know that as of today, Uniuyo has not conducted her student union government elections an election which was earlier conducted and nullified to be conducted in a later date,more than a month ago.
The student community as a whole express disgust at the actions of the new Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo Professor Nyaudoh Ndaeyo also most especially, at the new Dean of Students, Affairs, Mr Ettefia.
A lot of students have been forced to believe that the new admins have evil agendas, which they wish to achieve with the students government's out of the way. Oh, Aluta

Hostel

For the first time in over five years UNIVERSITY OF YOU hostel was locked for over a month after the resumption of the accademic year.
Something the accademic community term as an abomination, considering this as one of the Unlawful achievement of the new administration of the Vice Chancellor of the University of which he has been able to accomplish this smoothly with no student union government to intervene.
Students who came from outside the state and usually stay at the hostel had where so frustrated as they had no place to live.
The hostel was finally opened on Thursday 12th of August, 2021.
As of today, there have been no much response by students to moving into the hostel due to the already dented impression given by the school authorities.

Classes/academic activities

Judging from the session/semester academic calendar,the University is about 4weeks into the first semester of the academic year and from a little survey I conducted all the departments have fully resumed and are currently receiving full lectures campus

At the moment the University of Uyo community anticipates the following events

Other Activities

• The faculty of Art's recently conducted elections and had her first female faculty president,

• Faculty of Social Science has as well conducted her faculty elections.

• Faculty of Agriculture has as well conducted her faculty elections.

For now, that's the major happenings and updates from Uniuyo community.
