INTRODUCTION

Hello, steemians and my @campusconnectng family. This article below is my entry for @pricelesspresh contest #2

It has has always been a really tough decision to pick favourites from the lot of social media applications available. You know why?

Most of these apps have unique features you won't find in other apps that really make them outstanding. For example, WhatsApp is the go-to app for messaging because it blends seamlessly with your contacts, Snapchat is the app we open whenever we need to take that amazing picture with fire filters, we run to telegram whenever we need to create that super-sized group that can accommodate thousands of members.
Hence, one can easily deduce that most of us who make up the social media 'user community' install several of these apps on our phones and laptops to gain access to their unique features.

As humans however, we tend to develop special attraction to one or two social media applications that we find most relevant and enjoyable. Since we are limited by data, storage space and time to keep most of the other social media apps in order to enjoy their unique features.

Listed below, with satisfactory reasons, are two (2) of my most frequently used social media applications ( as stated in the contest info) and why they are my favourites. Also included are brief comparisons of the apps and some notable mentions of other apps I use frequently, with links to my social media accounts.

• WHATSAPP ( BUSINESS) :

Easy to guess, right?
WhatsApp has been a stable tool and companion to me as a campus student, being easily accessible when I need to quickly reach out to one of my contacts, or I desperately need an urgent info update from a group chat.
I can even argue that it is quite the best app for placing cheap data calls (both audio and video) to family, friends and business partners outside the country. The end to end encryption is safe and it is very difficult to hack, once a user has enabled two step verification.

Secondly, WhatsApp has a variant which promotes business, entrepreneurs gain a lot from it as it has a lot of features which includes business profile, catalogs, quick replies , automatic greeting and away messages,message statistics etc
Steem entrepreneurs can promote steemit and their businesses on the app.

This leaves me with little choice but to crown it my very favourite, and I hope you reading this agree very much with me. Infact, it was on WhatsApp that I got to learn of steemit and you can agree with me it is a big tool for publicity of business.

•TELEGRAM :

A big contender for the number 1 spot on my list of favourite social media apps, is Telegram. Some users may venture to claim that telegram is an upgrade to WhatsApp with more features and capacity. The group chats on Telegram have a very bogus capacity, accommodating thousands of contacts. Secondly, If u swap phones all ur messages and media on chats are safe without a need to backup elsewhere and one can keep scrolling up to see older messages on a newly joined group chat!
I get a lot of helpful resources from telegram, in the forms of novels and books, educational materials, videos etc regardless of the time I joined the group chat. Important posts are usually pinned for easy identification.

Lastly ,the telegram search tool is very powerful and you can even search global group chats you might be interested in.
Therefore, telegram is a worthy contender for the top spot on my favourite's list, occupying the number two spot.

However, WhatsApp retains the top spot because of the simplicity it offers and the popularity it has amassed around the globe.

SUMMARY

I hope I have been able to both defend my choice of WhatsApp and Telegram as my favourite social media apps as well as convince you to adopt them.
The benefits to a users business and social media experience is timeless and inexhaustible. I encourage all steem entrepreneurs and @campusconnectng subscribers to get these applications.

There are quite a few other social media applications I frequent occasionally for fun. But being a campus student I am limited by storage space, and data to explore their unique features enjoyably. Usually, some trending posts on these other social media platforms which include Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram are usually reposted on Whatsapp statuses. This saves me the stress of exploring those apps personally.
