Suggest To A Fresher: Hostel Or Off Campus (Lodge) At First Year??? | 10% Curation Reward To @campusconnectng

Greetings wonderful fellows! In this article, I shall share my thoughts on students' accommodation at first year. I would be glad to get your own opinion in the comment box my wonderful reader!🤗

Accomodation is one of the vital aspect of education that many would need to plan better in order to settle better while attending lectures and so on. Just as it is in life, aside food and clothings, man strive for shelter, a better comfort to sleep, wake, rest, relax and move on!

Often times I get questions like the one in the screenshot below from aspirants/freshers. Of course new students are totally moving to a new environment and thus they need to know and be okay when they resume.

If I am being asked this, my reply has always been HOSTEL at first year. Although, I will take my time to explain to whoever that asked, because it is diffinitely NOT compulsorily my suggest, other conditions may lead me to say LODGE. Yes, I do interview who is asking to know their state, their choice, their health, their way of life. All these matters.

Hostel in many universities in Nigeria are compulsory, this I think is because they school are trying to control their students at their first year in order not to loose them to the bad ones or to useless acts.
However, some schools my mine, MOUAU, may release bypass form later on to wave hostel and stay elsewhere, this is usually when the hostel is filled up and can't contain more students.

The fact that I met most of my wonderful friends at the hostel and that I learnt a lot about surviving in the school while in the hostel gives me more reasons to suggest hostel to freshers at first to enable them KNOW their university and be able to make right choices of SAFE places to live off campus in the second year. However, you will be ready to meet people you hate, people that are toxic, people who are good, and be able to make your own choice of life. Because in the hostel, you don't live alone in the room, you live with fellow students whom will be assigned at random, lucky you may meet people of your choice, or you might might the opposite. Although school life will still continue, depending on your way of managing them.

I suggest lodge to New students base on 1. health issues: yah, this is not discriminating but being honest, some hostels can't aid to your hygene at it fullest, though depending on how you can manage. 2. Privacy: you might be a working student and would need space to not get disturb by mates, because you can't really tell your mates how to behave or live in the hostel. Getting a better lodge may help you to concentrate more alone and do your work or reading.

Whichever choice you make for accommodation in your first year, the goal should always be to be good and strive to get the best result you can and live a good life happily. School is Good!!
