Mother's grief.
This piece was inspired by a fantastic work by Raneen Sawafta. Sadly, the everyday life of Palestinians has been a major source of inspiration for my works. "The mother of Palestinian Rasheed Abu Arra, who was killed, mourns her son alongside other women, in the town of Aqaba near Tubas, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank” (Raneen Sawafta).
This work aims to represent the pain in which unite mothers for the darkest reason. The loss of a child is the greatest pain one can experience. Mothers in particular share a profound connection with their offspring. The feeling of despair, the eternal grief and everlasting emptiness have no bearing on citizenship, ethnicity, social class or religion.
