The Dresden Residence Palace is a Renaissance building in the center of Dresden. It was the seat of the Dresden court and residence palace of the Saxon electors (1547-1806) and kings (1806-1918). As the ancestral seat of the Albertine line of the House of Wettin, it was formative for the cultural development of Dresden from the 16th century. The Residenzschloss is one of the oldest buildings in the city and is significant in terms of architectural history, as all styles from Romanesque to Historicism have left their mark on the structure.

The palace, which has been under reconstruction since the 1980s, is now home to five museums: the Historical and New Green Vault, the Coin Cabinet, the Museum of Prints and Drawings, and the Armory with the Turkish Chamber. It also houses the Art Library and the General Directorate of the Dresden State Art Collections.
