The Trabant - a companion from another time

You have to search a bit to find such a vehicle. Of course, there are commercial providers like Trabisafari that maintain a small fleet with which you can explore the city, but here it really seems to be a privately used one-off. It is not very comfortable and a trip to the Baltic Sea with this vehicle was a real test for nerves and material. Nevertheless, everyone who was allowed to finally get his Trabant from Zwickau after years of waiting was probably happy. You could (and had to) repair most things yourself and both the sound of the two-stroke engine and its smell will be remembered by anyone who grew up in the GDR.
