Materials For The Drawing
- Strongboard
- Top bond
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Paper Cutter
- Brushes
- Acrylic colours
- Ruler
- Masking tape
Step 1
I began by constructing or preparing the drawing space (frame) using the strongboard. I measure the strongboard to be 12.5 inches by 10 inches. I then cut it out in duplicate and gummed it together with the help of Top Bond. I then measure 0.5 inches from the edge of the frame across the four sides to serve as the boundary of the drawing space. Lastly, I wrote my name and date on the frame.
Step 2
I drew the head of the parrot, which I began with the strong beak, followed by the forehead, the crown, the nape and the throat (crop).
Step 3
I drew the back of the parrot and the tail. I also drew the abdomen, the dry tree that the bird stands on and lastly the thigh, toes and claw of the parrot.
Step 4
I drew the feathers of the parrot.
Step 5
I put masking tape around the edges of the drawing space to give me a smooth edge. I mixed yellow and blue colours to form a green colour and then applied it to the background of the drawing.
Step 6
I mixed red, yellow and blue colours to form a brown colour and then applied it to the dry tree. Lastly, I removed the masking tape.
Step 7
I painted the beak and eyes of the parrot using black and white colours.
Step 8
I painted the head and shoulder of the parrot using yellow and red acrylic colours.
Step 9
I painted the wings of the parrot using deep blue, yellow and red acrylic colours.
Step 10
I painted the breast, abdomen, thigh and tail of the parrot using deep blue, green, yellow and red colours.
Step 11
I painted the toes, claws and ring on the parrot's legs, which brought me to the end of the painting.
✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?
I took four hours to construct my drawing frame and paint the parrot. I also want to inform you that I became very happy at the end because the result is beautiful.
✅ Give us a beautiful selfie with your creation and where you got the inspiration from.
Drawing and painting are my hobbies, and anywhere I see something that attracts my attention, I imagine it to be my drawing or painting. I saw this piece in the collection of images in my wife's phone and I decided to paint it out.
Conclusion
The result is amazing, but at some points in the painting, I get confused, but I always have a way out. Thank you for your support. I invite @tammanna, @shiftitamanna @jyoti-thelight and @drhira to join me in this contest.
