I am glad to be part of this week's contest. Greetings my dear friends. I believe you are all fine as I am. Here is my article for the week.

What I drew today is the portrait of a lady with a jerry coil on her head. She put on a big round air ring and wore a ladies' suit.

Materials for the drawing

• White embossed paper
• HB pencil
• 2B pencil
• 5B pencil
• 10B pencil
• Eraser
• Razor blade
• Brush

Step 1
I drew the right eye and shaded the black eyelid, the eyelashes, and the surrounding area. I used an HB and a 2B pencil.

Step 2
I drew the left eye and shaded the black eyelids and the eyelashes. I also used an HB and a 2B pencil at this step.

Step 3
I drew the nose of the lady and shaded it appropriately. I also drew her mouth which is closed, and shaded the lips. I used an HB and a 2B pencil at this step.

Step 4
I sketched the face of the lady beginning with the forehead down to the cheek and the lower jaw. I also sketched the upper level of her hair and drew her two ears starting with the left ear. Lastly at this step, I shaded the eyelashes using a 5B pencil.

Step 5
I shaded the entire face of the lady and blended it with a brush. I then used a 5B and a 10B pencil to shade the jerry coil on the lady's head.

Step 6
I drew the neck of the lady, the collar of her shirt, the shoulder and part of her body using an HB and 2B pencil. I completed the step by shading the neck, the chest and blending with a brush.

Step 7
I drew the big round earring she put on and shaded it. I then conclude by shading the shirt she put on.

✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing and how do you feel about it?

It took me three (3) hours to start and finish this drawing. For a portrait like this, the artist does not need to rush to enable him or her to get what he or she wanted. I also need to say that I feel so happy at the end because the portrait is beautiful.

This drawing is the picture of a lady I came across on social media. I imagine how beautiful it will look if I draw it. So, I decided to draw it using a pencil.
