Greetings to you all and a merry Christmas as well. It's been a really good day, and I am glad to be here with you all once again, and today I shall be sharing my latest pencil drawing with you all. Every drawing I create is a reflection of patience, observation, and passion, and for this Steemit contest titled “Prove Yourself as the Best Artist This Week,” I decided to push my pencil skills further with a detailed portrait drawing. The drawing above captures a calm yet expressive female portrait, framed by two hands, creating a sense of focus, protection, and self-awareness. Below is how I made this drawing.

Step 1

The eyes were my main priority because they carry the emotion of the entire piece. I worked slowly, layering soft tones to build depth while keeping the highlights untouched. The eyebrows and lashes were added gently to avoid overpowering the softness of the face.

Step 2

Next I measured the spacing between the eyes, aligned the nose with the center of the face, and positioned the lips naturally to achieve harmony. Then I shaded the face.

Step 3

Next I carefully sketched the hair and the two hands as well, one at the top of her head and the other close to her face.

Step 4

Next I focused on the hair. I used darker pencil pressure and black pen to create rich shadows while maintaining soft strokes to suggest flow and texture.

Step 5

After doing that, I moved on to shading the hands. Hands can easily look stiff if not properly observed, so I took my time studying finger structure and angles. I began with simple shapes, gradually refining them into realistic forms. The hands were designed to frame the face, adding depth and meaning to the composition rather than distracting from it. At the same time I added more details on the face.

Step 6

Here I shaded the neck, and then I refined my drawing from start to finish to give it a bold and realistic look, and below is my final result.

This piece represents my commitment to growth as an artist and my willingness to challenge myself creatively. For this contest, I present not just a drawing, but a reflection of my passion, effort, and determination to continually prove myself through art. Thank you for sticking with me till the end.
