Rejoicing In The Lord (12/05/2026)
Joy as we know it is a feeling of great happiness Exodus 15:1-19; Luke 10:20-21. Rejoicing on the other hand is expression of great happiness about something. When praising God for all His goodness, deliverances, answers to prayers, protection, guidance etc, the devil does not want to see any act of rejoicing in the saints camp.It is a time of joy in God's presence in your life. The dominion of Satan is over, is a good song to rehearse at this period. The topic is examined under two subheadings.
- Sorting out past goodness of the lord: Take note that rejoicing is a follow up of a breakthrough. Something has just expired which is for good. It gladdens the heart. Noah looked over the safety measures God packaged for him and his family and worshipped the Lord with his burnt offerings (Genesis 8:1-6,18 19), he picked every bit God took in granting them safety. Israel's deliverance from Egypt (Exodus 15:1-19).
Examine closely the breaking down of Israel's victory. Deborah recounted God's deliverance (Judges 5:11,24-27), Israel under Nehemiah recounted the goodness of God in guilding the temple. Nehemiah 7:1, Hannah 1st Samuel 1:24-28, after the outreach the disciples were happy, Luke 10:17, the disciples relay the stories of God's goodness in the field of soul winning.
- Settling down for different types of praises for the rest of your life: In Genesis 8:20-22, Noah rejoiced in burnt offering and God perceived the sweet smell of it. Does God perceive the sweet smell of your rejoicing offering. No wonder we don't benefit from the blessing of Joy offering because it is lacking in our life. The future looks gloom. Exodus 15:20-21, Here the women used all they can afford to praise God. Deborah rejoiced before God for his mighty works (Judges 5:1-3). Nehemiah 8:9-12,17, Israel under Nehemiah's leading were glad, 1st Samuel 2:1-20, Hannah worshipped God for His miracles. Luke 10:20-21, the disciples rejoiced.
Finally the bible say we should rejoice always (Philippians 3:1;4:4; Romans 12:12). Rejoicing in hope. Let the magnitude of your rejoicing be so much to uphold your faith in future.
