Today I have come to participate in the New Year Celebration Plans Contest in the Steem Fashion and Style Community. Hopefully, I will be able to answer all the questions in this contest.
New Year Celebration Plans
Actually, people of different religions celebrate New Year. This festival is not really for us Muslims. But many people now celebrate this New Year among these Muslims. I actually do not make any plans for New Year celebrations. Instead of celebrating like that, we all cook and bake together and organize picnics like a picnic, which is a plan to spend time together and enjoy.
What do you think about new year celebrations? Is it necessary to celebrate?
Regarding New Year celebrations, I think this celebration is not for us. Still, we observe the rules and regulations of our religion together. I think that if we celebrate it not as a New Year but do nothing for it, if we take the whole family together and enjoy it, it can be a kind of family get-together. We can spend time together with the family.
What are your plans for new year celebrations?
I spend the New Year every year with my family. Actually, at that time, all the schools and offices are closed, so everyone comes to visit my house. My sister-in-law and her family and children live at my house, so we organize a feast with everyone. We cook together on the roof, everyone cooks happily, eats and drinks on the roof, so there is no New Year's Eve on the roof. This year too, we were all together, there were many people in the house, so we all planned that we would cook together at night in the thick fog, in the cold weather, and eat on banana leaves. That was our plan. So my brother-in-law came with a duck in the afternoon. We cut and cleaned the duck, prepared the spices, prepared the shiva and took it to the Amra roof. At night, we arranged lights on the roof. We made a stove. I lit the fire with chalk and kerosene oil. Then my brother-in-law marinated the duck meat with all the spices and we helped. Then I started cooking on the stove. After the duck was cooked, I cooked khichuri to eat with the duck.
It was almost 12 o'clock when the cooking was finished. After cooking, we spread a sheet on the roof and prepared banana leaves. My in-laws and mother-in-law are old people, so they could not sit down. They sat with plates. It was very cold and windy, which made it very difficult for us, but we had a lot of fun. Everyone organized a picnic together and ate together after a long time. Then we all sat together and ate on banana leaves. My sister-in-law and I served everyone. After finishing the food, we all got together and prepared everything together and had our picnic. We welcomed the New Year. Many people were flying firecrackers and lanterns. But we didn't do any of these things, we were enjoying watching them.
