Step by Step Process
Step 1
Every good drawing starts with a simple foundation. I began by drawing a smooth arch on my lined notebook paper. It looked like a hill or a bell shape. This basic curve is the starting point for any ghost body. To get the bell shape is very important because everything is built on top of the drawing. I took time to make sure it is done before Getting to the next step.
Step 2
Once I had my basic shape I started turning it into a ghost. I added two small oval eyes at the very top of the ghost to give it a face. Then move to drawing a tiny round nose in the middle near the top of the body to give it a face. The result was a very simple and friendly-looking ghost. This one is my cute ghost the kind that would not scare anyone
Step 3
For my next step I wanted to try something different. Instead of giving the ghost a clean smooth outline I decided to draw a flowing wavy lines at the bottom almost like fire or smoke. This gave the ghost a perfect look. I enjoyed this style a lot.
Step 4
At this stage I put three different ghost designs on one page so I could compare them. On the left was my original cute ghost. On the right was my floating ghost with the wavy edges. At the bottom I drew a bigger ghost with long arms stretched outward which gave it a more dramatic and powerful feeling.
Step 5
This step was my favourite because I started adding pencil shading to give the drawings more depth.i started by adding the hollow eyes and a open mouth which looks like the ghost is screaming. I went to the next step by adding a human figure with both hands raised. Adding the human figure made the whole drawing a real life story.
Step 6

For the last step I cleaned everything up and put all four ghost designs together neatly on one page. I made sure the lines were clearer and the shading was more even. The four designs together show a journey from the simplest ghost shape all the way to a full scary scene. I also wrote my username @sampson01 on the page so that the drawing is properly identified as mine.
How Long Did It Take?
The entire drawing process took me let's say one and half hour since it's not really stressful. I didn't rush because I wanted everything to be perfect.
How Do I Feel About It?
I am honestly very happy with how this turned out. When I started the beginning I didn't image it will turn out to this great detailed ghost characters
Where Did I Get My Inspiration?
My inspiration came from Halloween artwork I have seen online while watching TikTok. I was curious how artist draw ghost in many different ways within a short period of time.I In the end I loved them all for different reasons.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog and also reading what I did in words. With this my drawing I hope you are inspired to pick a pencil to see how perfect you are when it's comes to drawing. Keep creating
