A Song to Heal Relationships || "Smile for Me" — Cover

This is another cover I released of the song Smile for me by Simi, a female Nigerian artist. She released this song in 2017 on the note that relationships should be about happiness and longevity instead of the current trend in the world today where men flare up and divorce their women because of toothpaste.

Sounds funny, right? So in her song, she incorporated lyrics that summarize how just a smile can change everything, and this may be mostly applicable to those who are married, as they are mostly faced with challenges in their circle, which leads to heartbreak and separation if it gets worse. So how can just a smile change everything?

Before talking about how I sang the song, let's talk a little about this song and the lyrics it reads. Most marriages crash today because of lack of self-control. Can a man actually smile when his wife annoys him to the point that normally, he's supposed to react uncontrollably? That smile he gave can prevent further actions and bring the woman to her senses. If you check the lyrics, the artist said her man should do things that would just make her feel loved.

She even included that if a truth will make her feel bad, he should rather tell her an expensive lie. Even though he has a bad character, he should be good to her and bad to others outside. This speaks a whole lot about friendship and love. When last did your partner smile at you? Can you remember the first smile you gave your partner on your first date? Are you guys still holding onto that smile, or have things changed?

I'm not really a good singer; that's why I decided to duet the song, so I'll have to sing the alto and tenor parts in her song with my treble and alto voice. The first line got me singing it in alto, and if you notice, I had a switch of voice to my thin treble voice. I've been hearing people do riffs and runs in songs, which change the tone from the original artist. So I decided to practice such by stressing or putting emphasis on the song itself to avoid making it lag too much.

And I decided to sing with the artist instead of doing an acapella or singing with the instrumental. It made more sense when I did that. Check it out. This is the lyric of the song
