Nature Motivation Show - #3 - Animal Loving Plants / Tier-Liebende Pflanzen

Hello Nature Lovers !

Now that you are all locked up in your accommodations for the next few weeks it is so hard to stay in touch with the beauties of nature out there. So I decided to launch this Nature Motivation Show for you ^^ It will contain 10 episodes and will be published over two weeks. Each day I will present to you one of those episodes, with collected footage from the Botanical Gardens Bochum and the Hohenstein National Park in Witten, so that you can stay sane and still feel like a creation of our Mother Earth, and not like another piece of furniture of your accommodation ;) .. I will cover trees,bushes, carnivorous plants and beautiful flowers, wild forest animals and petting zoo animals, fungi and much more for you 😜 .. Today's episode is about Animal Loving Plants.

German: Jetzt, da wir alle für die nächsten Wochen eingesperrt sind, ist es schwer, in Kontakt mit den Schönheiten der Natur da draußen zu bleiben. Also habe ich beschlossen diese Nature Motivation Show für euch zu starten ^^ Es wird über 2 Wochen insgesamt 10 Episoden geben. Jeden Tag werde ich eine vorstellen, mit Aufnahmen aus dem Botanischen Garten Bochum und dem Nationalpark Hohenstein in Witten, damit ihr euch weiterhin wie eine Schöpfung unserer Mutter Erde fühlen könnt, und nicht wie ein weiteres Möbelstück eurer Wohnung ;) .. Ich werde Bäume, Sträucher, fleischfressende Pflanzen und schöne Blumen, Waldtiere und Streichelzootiere, Pilze und vieles mehr für euch abdecken .. In der heutigen Folge geht es um Tier-Liebende Planzen

Sarracenia - The Trumpet Pitcher

The Sarracenia is a carnivorous herbaceous plants that is native to the eastern regions of North America. Those plants are amazing examples of natures creativity as their leaves have evolved into pitcher shaped tubes, that are capable of trapping insects inside them. To do this, the pitchers attract the insect with a secretions from extrafloral nectaries with a beautiful scent that is located on the peristome, the outer rim of the tube, of the pitcher leaves. This peristome is quite slippery which causes the lured insects to fall inside the mouth of the tube where they are trapped and subsequently digested.

German: Die Sarracenia ist eine fleischfressende Pflanze, die in den östlichen Regionen Nordamerikas beheimatet ist. Diese Pflanzen sind erstaunliche Beispiele für Die Kreativität der Natur, da sich ihre Blätter zu krugförmigen Röhren entwickelt haben, die in der Lage sind, Insekten in ihnen einzufangen. Dafür ziehen die Krüge das Insekt mit einem Sekret aus extrafloraln Nekten mit einem schönen Duft an, der sich auf dem Peristome, dem äußeren Rand des Rohres, der Krugblätter befindet. Dieses Peristome ist ziemlich rutschig, was dazu führt, dass die angelockten Insekten in den Mund des Rohres fallen, wo sie gefangen und anschließend verdaut werden.

Nephentes x Mixta : The Monkey Cup

Nepenthes are also carnivorous plants. But this one here is native to tropical regions and can be found everywhere in Southeast Asia. This rather funny name refers to the fact that it has been observed that monkeys are drinking rainwater from these plants. Nepenthes have huge pitchers, compared to other carnivorous plants. They get as huge as 30 cm in length. They are usually completely lime green with several red spots and posses large red lips. Those pitchers are located at a height of 70-100 cm.

Nepenthes sind auch fleischfressende Pflanzen. Aber diese hier stammen aus tropischen Regionen und sind überall in Südostasien zu finden. Dieser lustige Name bezieht sich auf die Tatsache, dass beobachtet wurde wie Affen Regenwasser aus diesen Pflanzen trinken. Nepenthes haben riesige Krüge, im Vergleich zu anderen fleischfressenden Pflanzen. Sie werden bis zu 30 cm lang. Sie sind in der Regel komplett limetten-grün mit mehreren roten Flecken und besitzen große rote Lippen. Diese Krüge befinden sich für gewöhnlich in einer Höhe von 70-100 cm.

Hydnophytum - The Antplant

The Hydnophytum is native to Southeast Asia, the Pacific region and also in northern Australia. This unique plant is growing in between tree branches or on tree trunks and is known to take on a amazing symbiotic relationship with ants. In his tubes it can host an entire Ant Colony and it is a really nice example of an amazing Symbiosis. The ant plant providing a habitat for the ants high up above the ground and in return the ants are serving as guards and defensive soldiers to protect the plant from outside dangers.

German: Das Hydnophytum findet man in Südostasien, dem pazifischen Raum und auch im Norden Australiens. Diese einzigartige Pflanze wächst zwischen Baumzweigen oder auf Baumstämmen und ist dafür bekannt, eine erstaunliche symbiotische Beziehung mit Ameisen zu haben. In seinen Röhren kann es eine ganze Ameisenkolonie beherbergen und es ist ein wirklich schönes Beispiel für eine erstaunliche Symbiose. Die Ameisenpflanze bietet den Ameisen hoch über dem Boden einen Lebensraum und im Gegenzug dienen die Ameisen als Wächter und Wehrsoldaten, um die Pflanze vor äußeren Gefahren zu schützen.
