Nature Motivation Show - #5 - Shrubs / Büsche

Hello Nature Lovers !

Now that you are all locked up in your accommodations for the next few weeks it is so hard to stay in touch with the beauties of nature out there. So I decided to launch this Nature Motivation Show for you ^^ It will contain 10 episodes and will be published over two weeks. Each day I will present to you one of those episodes, with collected footage from the Botanical Gardens Bochum and the Hohenstein National Park in Witten, so that you can stay sane and still feel like a creation of our Mother Earth, and not like another piece of furniture of your accommodation ;) .. I will cover trees,bushes, carnivorous plants and beautiful flowers, wild forest animals and petting zoo animals, fungi and much more for you 😜 .. Today's episode is about Shrubs.

German: Jetzt, da wir alle für die nächsten Wochen eingesperrt sind, ist es schwer, in Kontakt mit den Schönheiten der Natur da draußen zu bleiben. Also habe ich beschlossen diese Nature Motivation Show für euch zu starten ^^ Es wird über 2 Wochen insgesamt 10 Episoden geben. Jeden Tag werde ich eine vorstellen, mit Aufnahmen aus dem Botanischen Garten Bochum und dem Nationalpark Hohenstein in Witten, damit ihr euch weiterhin wie eine Schöpfung unserer Mutter Erde fühlen könnt, und nicht wie ein weiteres Möbelstück eurer Wohnung ;) .. Ich werde Bäume, Sträucher, fleischfressende Pflanzen und schöne Blumen, Waldtiere und Streichelzootiere, Pilze und vieles mehr für euch abdecken .. In der heutigen Folge geht es um Büsche

Hydrangea Macrophiylla : The Bigleaf Hydrangea

The Hydrangea is is a halfshrub native to Japan in seaside habitats as well as mountains. They prefer locations close to near watercourses or groundwater veins. This shrub can get more than 2.5 m in height, with 15 cm long leafs in opposite-decussate fashion. The flower has 4 large egg shaped 2.5 cm long sepals and blossoms during june and october in various colors, such as pink, red, blue and purple and will grow into big ball shaped form with a diameter of 20 cm.

German: Die Hydrangea ist ein Halbstrauch, der in Japan in Küstenlebensräumen sowie Bergen beheimatet ist. Sie bevorzugen Standorte in der Nähe von Wasserläufen oder Grundwasseradern. Dieser Strauch kann mehr als 2,5 m hoch werden, mit 15 cm langen Blättern. Die Blume hat 4 große eiförmige 2,5 cm lange Kelchblätter und blüht von Juni bis Oktober in verschiedenen Farben, wie zum Beispiel rosa, rot, blau und lila. Diese können große kugelförmige Formen annehmen mit einem Durchmesser von 20 cm.

Cornus Cousa : The Japanese Dogwood

The Cornus Kousa is another shrub that is native to the regions of China, Japan and Korea and Taiwan. But its brother, the Cornus Florida, can be found in North America. This shrub get as high as 10 m with a stem diameter of 35 cm. It has 10 cm long, and 5 cm broad, oval leaves grow in a opposite fashion. The flower possesses 4 beautiful symmetrical white petals. The Kousa blossoms from Mai to July.

German: Der Cornus Kousa ist ein weiterer Busch, der in den Regionen China, Japan, Korea und Taiwan beheimatet ist. Aber sein Bruder, der Cornus Florida, kann in Nordamerika gefunden werden. Dieser Strauch wird bis zu 10 m hoch und hat einen Stieldurchmesser von 35 cm. Es hat 10 cm lange und 5 cm breite, ovale Blätter die in in entgegengesetzten Weise wachsen. Die Blume besitzt 4 schöne symmetrische weiße Blütenblätter. Die Kousa blüht von Mai bis Juli.

Rosa x Alba Suaveolens : The White Rose Of York

The Rosa x Alba can be found nearly everywhere in the world, even in regions like Scandinavia and Canada, and even in complete shadow. It is a direct mixture of the Rosa Gallica and the Rosa Damascena and one of the oldest rose species of the world. Thus its cultivation started already everywhere in the ancient times. These shrubs get as height as 2 m and possess nearly countless flowers if in complete bloom. There are many different cultivates of the Alba with a variety of colors such as pink, red and yellow. Those blossom from June and July and have a really beautiful sweet smell. Thus they have been used to extract rose oil which is a common component in perfumes since the use of the first perfumes ever created.

German: Die Weisse Rose von York ist fast überall auf der Welt zu finden, sogar in Regionen wie Skandinavien und Kanada, und im völligen Schatten. Es ist eine direkte Mischung aus der Rosa Gallica und der Rosa Damascena und eine der ältesten Rosenarten der Welt. Deshalb begann ihre Kultivierung bereits schon berall in der Antike. Diese Sträucher wachsen bis zu 2 m hoch und besitzen fast unzählige Blüten, wenn sie in voller Blüte stehen. Es gibt viele verschiedene Kultivierungen der Alba mit einer Vielzahl von Farben wie rosa, rot und gelb. Diese blühen ab Juni und Juli und haben einen wirklich schönen und süßen Geruch. So wurden sie verwendet, um Rosenöl zu extrahieren, das eine grundlegende Komponente in Parfüms seit der Herstellung des ersten Parfums jemals ist.

Geranium Renardii : The Caucasian Cranesbill

The Geranium, similiar to the Rosa x Alba, can be found everywhere on the world, even in the arctic and antarctic, but their native origin is in the Caucasus. The plants can get as high as 30 cm. The Geranium was used since the 16th century as an ornamental plant. They were also used as medicine for jaundice, bleeding, malignant ulcers and skin rash. Also Women who wanted children in vain were advised to wear a cranesbill root around their necks as an amulet. The flowers have five radial symetric petals, which can have various colors such as purple, blue, pink or white. This depends on the species of geranium, which count more then 400 different ones.

German: Ähnlich der Rosa x Alba, ist der Storchschnabel überall auf der Welt zu finden, sogar in der Arktis und Antarktis, aber sein Ursprung liegt im Kaukasus. Die Pflanzen können bis zu 30 cm hoch werden. Der Storchschnabel wurde seit dem 16. Jahrhundert als Zierpflanze verwendet. Er wurde auch als Medizin für Gelbsucht, Blutungen, bösartige Geschwüre und Hautausschlag verwendet. Auch Frauen, die unbedingt Kinder haben wollten, wurde geraten, ein Amulett aus dessen Wwurzel um den Hals zu tragen. Die Blüten haben fünf radiale symetrische Blütenblätter, die verschiedene Farben wie lila, blau, rosa oder weiß haben können. Dies hängt von der Art von Geranien ab, die mehr als 400 verschiedene zählen.
