A VISIT TO MY ANCESTRAL HOME

I paid a visit to my ancestral home with my son. I was very excited to notice that my people are advancing from local (hand) production of palm oil for only consumption to the use of machine for the production of palm oil for consumption and commercial purposes.

Before my arrival, my people had already harvested the palm fruits from palm trees, collected bunches to a spot, splitted the palm fruits bunches into smaller pieces for easy removal from its spikelets. I met my people at the point of boiling the palm fruits, my welcome ceremony did not allow me to take pictures of the former for my Steemit community viewing pleasure.

Here are the steps I met:

The use of machine in grinding the palm fruits mesocarp from its endocarp.

Thereafter, it was removed from the grinding machine to a separate machine they called “pressing machine”.

After collecting the grinded palm fruits from the grinding machine to the “pressing machine”, I was asked to use my manly power to press it in other to obtain the oil, my little boy also joined his little effort in pressing it.

Using the "pressing machine", we pressed it to its last thread to obtain the palm oil.

Before making our way back to the city with our palm oil, my boy had a nice time with his grand-father.

We are now in the city enjoying our palm oil.
