All time UCL stats......
How many countries in Europe have seen at least one UCL champion club? You can easily say about the top five countries of Europe in club football. But there is more countries except this. There are ten different countries that have seen the UCL champion team. These are Spain, England, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Netherland, Serbia, Scotland and Romania.
Spain has the most number of UCL trophy by nation with Madrid's fourteen and Barcelona's 5. After Spain, England has total 14 trophy with Liverpools' six, Manchester United's three, Chelsea two, Nottingham Forest two and Aston Villa's one. I am totally surprised to see Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in this list. THough Aston Villa regularly play in EPL but Nottingham Forest is playing 23 years in championship. This time they have been promoted to EPL again after 1999, almost 23 years later.
Italy has totall 12 trophy because of Milan's seven, Inter's three and Juventus's two. Germany has eight trophy with Bayern's six, Hamburger's one and Dortmund's one. Netherlands has six trophy with Ajax's four, Feyenoord's one and Eindhoven's one. Portugal has four with Benfica and Porto, two for both. Rest of the clubs has one trophy.
When I see this stats, I was surprised that Juventus is the most time runner-up. They lost the final total seven times. Bad luck for them. England has the most number of champions club. Total five EPL teams have been champion from time to time. And in the upcoming session, EPL will see their five UCL champions team in top flight of England in a body. Because Nottingham was playing in the championship aftrer 1999. And Chelsea didn't win the UCL yet. So upcoming session will be the first time to see five champions in a body to play EPL.
