Wolves 0-1 Liverpool

I actually predicted a 0-2 victory for Liverpool FC but I guess I was close. I must say that Liverpool did better last night to have grabbed all three points from Nuno Espirito's men. It feels good to be back in winning ways as it brings hope of good things for the fans. With 46 points, one can be sure of the Europa League but that's not the goal. The goal is to into the top four.

Liverpool's line-up saw a difference and i loved the difference in the midfield. Having Fabinho back to number four was a blessing. He did a lot of interceptions and allowed liverpool control the ball more at the center. However, I'm beginning to dislike Thiago Alcantara in the Liverpool team. I really don't understand his role in the Liverpool team or why Jurgen Klopp signed him. I mean, he rarely contributes to any game rather it endangers every of Liverpool's through his bad tackles and rough plays. Thiago commits too many fouls.

I'm happy he was being substituted early in the second-half else he could have sabotaged Liverpool's effort. He had a yellow card and he kept on with the bad tackles. Henderson better recovers so, he could recline on the bench till he changes his style of play. Although Liverpool won, there were lots of errors in their game. A lot of them underperformed including Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane, Alexander Arnold, Robertson and even Allison. Just look at the chances Sadio Mane missed whereas Salah wasn't even being felt in the game. Arnold made numerous poor crosses together with Robertson.

Thanks goodness for Diogo Jota who hunted his former team to give Liverpool a sublime victory at the Molineux stadium. I hope this win reshapes their mind and enhance their better performance in subsequent games.

I didn't watch it so your thoughts are insightful. I've wondered about Thiago for a while too - he was signed amid great fanfare but I've seen nothing to make me think that he's improved Liverpool as a team (yet).

Thiago Alcantara is yet to make any meaningful contribution to the Liverpool team. To me, he is just a number

Just another in the long line of players at Liverpool who have worn the number 6 shirt and disappointed - https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/ranking-every-player-to-wear-no-6-for-liverpool-in-the-premier-league-era/

In fairness to Riise though, I quite liked him.

I never really watched Rise playing so, I can't tell

I quite liked him - I don't think he was much of a defender (left back) but he could strike a ball so hard and scored some amazing goals. I was surprised by the list and how many bad number 6's Liverpool have had. I also thought it might make a good post in its own right - hint hint.

That's true
I could research on him and make a post

Thanks for the hint

No problem - I've deleted my reply to this - don't want to be giving people ideas. I've also thought that it's something that I'd really enjoy doing so do you mind if I take the idea back and start my own mini-series?

Hahahahaha😂

We can still be writing alongside. There's no way we'll write same thing!
