The world best payers are usually centered around players who play only forward positions. However, they mostly fail to acknowledge the presence and impact of players who occupy different roles on the pitch. Why is that and how do we correct this?

Porque son los que más venden, el marketing siempre está involucrado en ese tipo de nominaciones, y mientras más genere mayor será el peso de su nominación. Sin embargo, en términos futbolisticos no se puede negar que muchos delanteros historicamente han sobresalido por encima del resto, y aunque el fútbol es un deporte en conjunto, las individualidades parecen ser más vistosas, además que estos jugadores han cargado un equipo en sus hombros con sus buenas actuaciones.
Para dar un ejemplo, esta Maradona, siempre estuvo rodeado de grandes jugadores a nivel de clubes y de selección, pero la habilidad que el tenía y su desarrollo en la cancha lo colocaban por encima de sus compañeros, en su caso era imposible no colocarlo como el mejor jugador, pues en realidad lo fue. Pero en algunas oportunidades han sido otros jugadores catalogados como los mejores en su momento, y no eran delanteros, entre ellos están Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Paul Scholes y algunos más. Lo que pasa es que no siempre estos jugadores de otras posiciones son los mejores de un club, sino los delanteros que tienen grandes capacidades para definir un partido a través de sus goles.

The Best Player Award is mostly based on the forwards because they are mostly the ones that attain the win for the team and they also have more skillful touches with the ball, most times, they create chances in a match and push the attacks. The struggle with, conquer the opponent and score. While the work of the midfielders is just to distribute passes while the defenders just have to contest for the ball and clear, still moving it forward to the attackers.
Personally, I don't think the forwards should be the ones only concentrated on when talking about the best player award. This is because each member of the team has his own role to the success of the game. The attackers cannot contest the ball, pass, dribble and win.
Currently, football federation is really doing something about it which we have noticed, that is why Kante and Jorginho who are midfielders were ranked high in the Balon d'or and also Thiago Silva who is a defender was awarded the Best Player of the club world cup.
But more can be done, I think they should expand the features they watch when choosing best players looking beyond just goals, dribbles and assists, they should also get to consider the touches, movements, creativity and even the impact a player makes to the team. This will help pave way for midfielders and Defenders to be fully involved in the players contesting for the Best Player awards.

Justamente hoy estaba pensando que la posición de delantero es la más difícil que hay en el campo, pues para mí esas conversaciones se centran en ellos porque los goles son quienes deciden el encuentro, para ganar se debe anotar y un delantero que pueda hacer muchos goles se va ganar la admiración del público y todo el apoyo del club. Mientras un delantero anoté y haga que el equipo gane eso le genera mucho valor en el mercado.
Realmente para que otro jugador de una posición diferente pueda tener gran relevancia, debe suceder que consiga rendimientos de juegos muy buenos, que cause un impacto dentro de la cancha muy notorio que los medios comiencen hablar de ello y eso hace que las personas puedan interesarse más en esos jugadores. Normalmente los medios hablan de los delanteros, muy poco se centran en jugadores que ocupan otros espacios, pero cuando lo hacen como puede ser el caso de Kroos, todos empiezan a ver más a ese jugador y hace que pueda tener mayor valor del mercado.
Es muy difícil causar que eso suceda, pero lo principal es que el jugador tenga rendimientos muy sobresalientes y que tenga actuaciones destacadas en partidos importantes. Si un jugador que tiene un rol diferente consigue hacer eso, seguramente va ser más mencionado y su valor aumentará.

Striking role is one of the most difficult position to play in football. Apart goal keepers that try to prevent the ball from entering the back of the net, strikers are always alert to try to score. Other players score, defenders score, Sergio Ramos has the highest record as a goal scorer despite he also has the record of receiving red cards.
Recall, 2006 world cup, a defender won the best player of the year which I know is very rare and Zidane Zidan has won it as a midfielder. But others has been strikers(Fw) which are the goal punchers. There are different forwards and their job is to get the goals and is the most difficult role to play on the pitch.
What I believe is that any player can be acknowledged once such player is doing what is needful. Play well both at club sides and national side. Win trophies especially the Champions League though I know that the world cup is very difficult. Fight for your team and most times take responsibility when the need arises. C. Ronaldo do this most often which he tries to motivate his teammates. Euro 2016 manifested this attribution despite he pick up an injury but he was vital to the team.
Any player can nominated but it will be difficult to win especially nowadays that Center Forward (CF) are recognized with this reward.
