Jamia Masjid Data Darbar Lahore

There is a famous and associated mosque next to Data Darbar, which was built in the 11th century when Hazrat Data Ali Hajveri died in 1072.

This mosque was further constructed during the Mughal period, especially during the reign of Sultan Pahul Lodhi. It was made more beautiful, and its premises were expanded. After that, in 1970, during the reign of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, its premises were further expanded, and it was connected with Data Darbar. Even today, devotees come here in lakhs and pay their respects here. After that, in the 1900s, during the reign of Nawaz Sharif, four more moons were added to it, and its premises were expanded, increasing its beauty. This mosque also belongs to the same time and is connected with the Data Darbar. Millions of people come to offer prayers in this mosque.

This mosque has two large minarets, which are visible to us from a distance, and we realize that we have reached the Data Darbar Mosque, and a large number of speakers have been placed on top of these two minarets. When the call to prayer is given, the sound is conveyed to the ears of every person through these speakers. That sound reaches the entire surrounding area. And when prayers are offered in congregation, these speakers are also used so that if someone is far from the mosque, he can offer prayers in congregation in his home.

Apart from being a mosque, it is also an educational institution and madrasa. Millions of people come here to gain knowledge, and it is a centuries-old mosque from the Mughal era. No shortcomings were made in the construction and expansion of the mosque. If you look at its exterior, it is very beautiful. You can see stone everywhere, and similarly, glasswork has been done on its front, which further enhances its beauty.

In a close-up view, we see a black stone on its front that looks like glass, although it is not glass. Its design is made in such a way that the doors below are attached to it, which is a very beautiful design.

Talking about its interior, it is very beautiful. It has good lighting everywhere, a beautiful design has been prepared, and there is a spacious hall where millions of people can pray in congregation at a time.

This is a double-story mosque, and if you look at the roof of this mosque, a beautiful design has been made on it, and to further enhance its beauty, a chandelier has been arranged inside, which different types of lighting have been made, which scatter its light throughout the entire space. Similarly, its walls are also beautiful. The wall of the second hall has been decorated with wooden angles, which make it easy to see below.

This mosque has an open courtyard, and around this courtyard, you will see a veranda which has been beautifully designed. It has been made a way to move forward in a courtyard because when the rows are laid in the middle, the veranda is used on these sides to move forward, so that you can access the front, and this further adds to the beauty of this mosque.

On special occasions, such as Friday, there is a lot of rush. People sit inside, so the inside is filled, where fans and lights have been well arranged. After that, rows are laid out in the courtyard outside, and large fans have also been installed for those sitting in the courtyard, which provide them with comfort and relief in the heat. In this way, you will find it easy to find your way around every part of this mosque.

When you go anywhere in the courtyard or interior of this mosque, you will not see any water arrangement anywhere, but if you want to perform ablution or if you want to use the washroom, you will see a staircase going down from its left side. You can go down these stairs and get access to all the other things. Those stairs are beautifully made, good stone is used, and a support has been installed on the side, which is ideal for the elderly and children. They can hold them and go down or come up from there.

When you go down these stairs and go forward, you will first see the washroom on the left. Special care has been taken to keep the washroom clean. There are two sweepers sitting there all the time who take care of the cleanliness. The washroom is beautiful, has water facilities, and the best system has been made. Similarly, if you go forward a little from here, on the left side of the wall, we will see a water tap where you can sit and perform ablution and clean yourself.
