Why I would make a good Steem Country Representative for Sri Lanka

Steemit is one of the best things that happened to me in my life. Finally, I got a place to share my interests, interact with people while having worth for my effort. Along with that, I got a great family which exactly shares my interests, supportive and kind-hearted. That's Steem Sri Lanka.

I feel now I am ready to take more responsibilities for them as well as to take it to the next level. So, here's my application for the country representative position of Sri Lanka.

Who am I?

I'm Damith Udayanga, a civil Engineering undergraduate of the University of Moratuwa. I joined steemit on, 10th of September 2020, with the guidance of my friend randulakoralage. From the start of the journey, I was so excited and wanted to be stable on the platform. I think I have done a good job in growing my account step by step.

Now I have 5000+ steem power, 68+ reputation with 202 posts and 1500+ replies. It shows how active I was in last few months.

My Personal Achievements so far

• Becoming the winner of #spud4steem October.

This is the critical point that boosted my attitude towards the platform. Then continuously I joined the contest and regularly powered up. And I have delegated almost all my power to Steem Sri Lanka(4650 SP) and World of Cricket (200SP). So, I am a happy guy seeing the growth of my personal account as well as by giving a hand to others.

• Becoming the mods of Steem Sri Lanka and World of Cricket communities

I have participated in many communities like writing and reviews, world of Xpiler, steemfoods and different country communities. And as a whole I could win more than 20 contests so far. Eventually, I mainly get settled in this two communities.

My engagement in World of Cricket community

I am an active member here from the start of the community. I have personally shared 70 posts along with 22 contests from my personal account. And also I have organized 3 contests from the community account to increase the engagement and members. Despite small number of Cricket playing nation, now there are 750+ subscribers with us.

Apart from that, along with the other mods I am checking for original contents, which do not violate any steemit rules.

My engagement in Steem Sri Lanka community

From the start of my journey, these people gave me an enomours support. As I said we are kind of a family. As a team, we could achieve huge milestones step by step. I am an active member there, posting, commenting and engaging regularly. And I am already a moderator in the community, with reasonable amount of responsibilities.

• Organized the Steem Sri Lanka contest Series and contests

Members of Sri Lanka conducted a contest series, in order to increase the engagement in the community and to get the experience of running a contest individually. In the phase 2, I organized the overall series consist of 7 contests. And overall, from the 13 contests we got 255 entries from all over the world. We could have a massive growth and popularity for the community with that project.

I have done 2 contests in the community.

The best place I've ever visited, my first one received 17 entries from 7 countries. For the contest, Love for my Parents, I received 37 entries. So, that was an amazing experience for me and really glad to have that much responses from around the world.

• Checking for plagiarism and filtering quality contents

We have strict rules in our community when comes to quality content. So, regularly I with other mods and members, checked all the posts and remove if any violation is seen. We normally use, free plagiarism detectors, but somehow users become more tricky. So, with a initiative, we organized a contest to be more successful in catching the bad guys. So, currently I am supervising that project too.

And I'm in charge of selecting daily posts for the Booming curation for the community along with randulakoralage.

• Organizing SL Charity Project in Monaragala

One of the best step taken by us is initiating the charity account. All the members of the community must be appreciated for their generosity throughout. So, for that I organized one project in my home town, Monaragala with my friend @prasadi.

• Guiding New comers

From our official Telegram channel I am helping the Newcomers to clarify their issues at any time. And now I am taking my next step to start a facebook campaign to recruit new members. I have already published and boosted the first introduction post. And already we are having a good engagement to the post, and joining of curious new members to telegram channel. Today we got the first new member from the project too, My Introduction Post to Steemit.

Why do I deserve to be one of Cr s in Sri Lanka

Now I have been an active, regular member of Steem sri Lanka, for more than 7 months. I am already doing various responsibilities as you can see above, to establish steemit more in Sri Lanka. So, with all experiences working with them, now I know the perfect rhythm and perfect idea how to continue this. And I have set a good example for all the members from my behaviour.

I have to mention, @randukakoralage, our beloved country representative. She gave me full support through out, and what we are witnessing in Steem Sri Lanka, is a result of her hardwork and commitment. So, alone with her I know we can achieve bigger milestones.

So, I think now I am fit to take more responsibilities to transform Sri Lanka as one of the best communities in Sri Lanka. And I'm excited to dedicate my capabilities much for that.
