A Blessed Evening at Ruwanweliseya 🤍

Yesterday was truly special as we made our way to Ruwanweliseya, the most sacred site in Anuradhapura. Our purpose was unique. We went there to seek blessings for our AL and OL students who are on the brink of their exams next week. The school organized a religious program to evoke blessings for our students as they approach this significant milestone in their academic journey. Students came with flowers, joss sticks, wicks, oil, pirikara and everything to offer with their parents.

We arrived there around 5 pm, greeted by the sight of the freshly painted Dageba. It was shining brilliantly white in signifying that Vesak is approaching. Its brightness seemed to ward off rain, explaining the recent dry spell. Despite the evening hour, the ground was scorching, the heat could almost be felt under our feet. All of us were sitting on the floor with great difficulty until Pirith chanted.

Nevertheless, it was an enriching evening spent in the sacred precincts of Ruwanweliseya. We prayed fervently for our students, seeking divine guidance and support as they prepare for their exams. May the blessings received yesterday serve as a beacon of hope and strength as they embark on this important chapter of their lives.
