Then the polytheists also filled the Masjid al-Haram with idols, so when Mecca was conquered, there were three hundred and sixty idols around the Kaaba, which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) himself broke with his blessed hands. He (peace be upon him) used to break each one with a stick and beat it until it fell. Then, by his (peace be upon him) order, all these idols were taken out of the Masjid al-Haram and burned.

In short, polytheism and idolatry had become the greatest manifestation of the religion of the people of ignorance, who were proud that they were on the religion of Abraham (peace be upon him).

Then, some special methods and rituals of idolatry were also prevalent among the people of ignorance, which were mostly the inventions of Amr ibn Luhay. The people of ignorance believed that Amr ibn Luhay's innovations were not changes in the Abrahamic religion, but rather good innovations.

Below we are mentioning some important rituals of idolatry prevalent among the people of ignorance:

1. The polytheists of the ignorance era used to sit near idols, seek their refuge, call upon them loudly and make supplications to them for their needs and difficulties, and believe that they will intercede with Allah and fulfill our wishes.

2. They used to perform Hajj and Tawaf of idols, they used to approach them with humility and prostrate before them.

3. They used to offer offerings and sacrifices to idols and sometimes they would take these sacrificial animals to the shrines of idols and slaughter them, and sometimes they would slaughter them anywhere but in the name of idols. Allah Almighty has mentioned both these forms of slaughter in the Holy Quran.
