PART:-••••48 ..

⏰ 10. 14 PM

I had nothing in my chest for the child. Nor could the camel feed him. We were just hoping for rain and prosperity. I rode my donkey, but it moved so slowly due to its weakness and thinness that the entire caravan was exhausted.

Well, somehow or other, we reached Mecca in search of suckling children. Then there was no woman among us who had not been presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but when she was told that he was an orphan, she would refuse to take him (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), because we were hoping for alms from the child's father. What could his widowed mother and grandfather give him? That was the only reason why we did not want to take him.

Meanwhile, all the women who had come with me got some or the other child, except me. When it was time to return, I said to my husband: By Allaah! I do not like that all my friends should go with their children and I alone should return without any child. I will go and take this orphan child.

The husband said, "There is no harm! It is possible that Allah will bless us with this." After that, I went and took the child and took it on the grounds that no other child could be found.

Hazrat Halimah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when I returned to my camp with the child and placed him in my arms, both breasts were covered with milk and he drank as much as he wanted until he was full. His brother also drank with him until he was full, and then both of them fell asleep. Although before that we could not sleep with our child.

Meanwhile, my husband went to milk the camel and saw that its udder was full of milk. He milked so much milk that both of us drank very happily and spent the night very comfortably.

She states that in the morning, my husband said, "Halimah! By God, you have attained a blessed soul. I said, I also expect the same.

Halimah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that after that our caravan set out. I rode on this worn-out donkey and took the child with me, but now the same donkey cut off the entire caravan and went ahead in such a way that no donkey could keep up with it.

My friends even started saying to me: "Oh! Daughter of Abu Dhu'ib! What is this? Please be kind to us. After all, is this the same donkey of yours that you came riding on?"

I would say: "Yes, yes! By Allah, it is the same one" - she would say "There must be some special matter for it -"
