The 2020 MayFlower Silver Coin
Hello, Hivers! And HAPPY FATHER's DAY to those celebrating this day!
It is #beautifulsunday and #sublimesunday to be able to share with you a silver coin that depicts one of my favorite designs- SHIP- and with significance to the history of America.
Today we will look at the Mayflower silver coin.
The Mayflower is one of the most well-known sailing vessels in American history. The ship itself predates the founding of the United States of America, but its place in the history of the country is held dearly as the start of permanent settling in what is now the United States. The Mayflower departed from Plymouth, England, in September 1620 with a goal of reaching the New World.
2020 Rwanda 1 oz Silver Nautical Ounce Mayflower BU
The 2020 Nautical Ounce series release commemorates the 400th anniversary of the English ship, The 'Mayflower' which was one of the first ships to bring Pilgrims to the "New World".4th design in the Rwandan Nautical Ounce Series, contains 1 ounce of .999 fine silver by the German Mint, 50 RWF Franc.
Once the Mayflower departed from Plymouth, England, it took just over two months to cross the Atlantic Ocean. The ship with 103 passengers and 30 crew arrived off the coast of Cape Cod on November 9, 1620, and the settlers of would eventually build up a colony before winter set-in in full.
REVERSE
The reverse side of 2020 Rwandan Silver Mayflower Nautical Ounce Coin includes the coat of arms & official seal of for the Republic of Rwanda and the face value of 50 Francs. The national emblem features a traditional basket in the center with sorghum and coffee on either side, with all these elements flanked by traditional indigenous shields.
