Wednesday Educational Theme-Social issues in Pakistan
Pakistan is currently facing numerous issues that are adversely affecting the people of the country regarding many aspects whether it be their health, education, or living standard.

As far is the environment of Pakistan is concerned, it has been intoxicated to an alarming rate. Frequent practices such as burning of garbage, polluting of water bodies, and using of non-environmentally friendly vehicles to a very large extent are a few reasons for this. A huge amount of forests have been cleared to accommodate the exploding population. As of now, less than 5% of Pakistan’s land is composed of forests in while a healthy amount is at least 20%.
“Lack of education is the most concerning handicap.”
The literacy rate of the country is also something really concerning that should be taken into consideration. A large amount of children are deprived of schooling due to poverty. Female children are kept out of schools due to conservative mindsets. Lack of education leads to improper use of resources due to which development of the country is held back. This leads to very little employment opportunities, thus the high unemployment rate.
Living standard of about 60% of the population is below average due to the fact that they all live in villages where proper facilities lack. There is no proper electricity, schools, hospitals, etc. This encourages the people of rural areas to move to cities which leads them to live an even worse life since they cannot afford anything for what they came for in the first place.
The government should seriously focus on these problems and work to fix them because if action is not soon taken, the severity of the consequences could greatly worsen.
I think the political unrest in the country doesn't let the governments focus on the poverty.
