Sudden plans are undoubtedly the best plans. Today in the morning while having the breakfast on the dining table with the family members around us, my husband suddenly suggested that we should visit kalabagh Airbase and spend our day there to which we all happily agreed.

Kalabagh Airbase is one of the most beautiful bases of the Airforce and is one of my most favourite places in the North. It's not only calm and serene but also breathtakingly beautiful. The weather there is always pleasant and whenever I visit this place I feel myself closer to the nature.

The serenity and natural beauty of this place helps calm the mind and unwind it. This place is soothing for the mind and the eyes too. There are a plenty of activities that we can also do there like archery and wall climbing.

After eating our breakfast we all got ready, left the home and started our journey at 2 pm. Kalabagh is approximately 40 to 50 mins away from my hometown Abbottabad where we are staying these days on our holidays.

I really enjoyed the whole journey because the view was amazing, the road sides were covered with the trees (mostly pine) and the environment was so clean and fresh.

On our way we stopped to get a roasted corn known as "sitta" or "bhutta". It's roasted in salt and on sand and seasoned with lemon and some masala.

In karachi one of the things I miss the most is this "Bhutta". One type is a boiled one which is usually seasoned with lemon and red chillies but I liked the one which is roasted on sand.

We then reached our destination after 50 mins at around 3 pm.I could see a lot of monkeys around but I was too scared to capture it but I was mesmerised by the peace and beauty of this place.

The environment was so clean, there was fresh air and I felt closer to the nature. There were some really nice and funny captions written on the trees. That really cracked us up.

I was craving for a cup of coffee and others wanted to have a cup of tea so went to the coffee shop situated inside the base. I ordered my favourite cappuccino while others had tea. The coffee shop was very cozy and I loved the interior.

We then decided to hike to the top of the Green Spot. It took me around 15 mins to reach there. There was an option to go by a car too but me and my husband love hiking so we preferred hiking instead of just going in the car.

The path was steep, not very smooth and there were many steps too. When I reached the Green Spot I was out of breath and a bit tired too. I took a water bottle along that really helped me in staying fresh and hydrated.

The Green Spot looked extremely beautiful. It was lush green and this is the reason why it's named so. We spent some time there and enjoyed the view.

After some time the weather was getting cold and it was getting dark so we went back to the Officers mess which is situated down the track from where we hiked up to the green spot. On our way back to the mess we went in a car instead of hiking because it was getting dark and wasn't safe to hike on such a path at night.

It was already dark when we reached back the mess and were extremely hungry. The food was served hot and everything looked extremely sumptuous.

We all enjoyed the food and then left for our home. We reached the home by 11 pm and were extremely tired. I changed and jumped in my bed right away and dozed off in minutes.
