On this occasion, I will take a break from the dark World events to show you a nicer part of the World which knows how to create beauty…

I present to you, with pride, a performance of a piece of music written by the French composer César Franck (César Auguste Jean Guillaume Hubert Franck) in 1879. This is the Piano Quintet in F minor, and the reason I am proud to present it to you is that my dear niece, Milica, is among the performers (violin on the far left). Not to delay your enjoyment, information about the work and the concert after the show:

Представљам вам, са поносом, извођење музичког дела које је написао француски композитор Цезар Франк (César Auguste Jean Guillaume Hubert Franck) 1879. У питању је Квинтет за клавир у Ф-молу, а разлог што вам га с поносом представљам, јесте што је међу извођачима (виолина сасвим лево) моја драга братаница, Милица. Да вам не одлажем уживање, подаци о делу и концерту после слушања:

This concert was held in Linz, at the Arthur Bruckner University on March 19, 2021. The piece itself, Piano Quintet in F minor, is composed for piano, two violins, a viola and a cello, in three movements:

Овај концерт одржан је у Линцу, на Универзитету Артур Брукнер 19. марта 2021. године. Само дело, Квинтет за клавир у Ф-молу, састављено је за клавир, две виолине, виолу и чело, у три става:

                                        1. Molto moderato quasi lento – Allegro
                                        2. Lento con molto sentimento
                                        3. Allegro non troppo ma con fuoco

Franck dedicated this piece to his ‘good friend, Saint-Saëns’, and the score was first printed in 1880. The top pic shows the cover of the first edition with a dedication to Saint-Saëns. It is interesting that the critics of that time were not exactly in favor of this work.

Дело је Франк посветио свом ‘добром пријатељу, Сен-Сансу’, и ноте су први пут штампане 1880. На насловној слици налази се корица првог издања са посветом Сен-Сансу. Занимљиво је да критика оног времена баш и није била наклоњена овом делу.
