Computing environments (10% set to zero-to-infinity)

Hope you all are doing good?? Today, I will be talking about computing environments, types of computing environments, where and how it is used appropriately, and the benefit of the various types of computing environments. The use of computers in our daily lives continues to broaden as time goes and I think people should take interest in the uses of computers and in their respective environments and learn about them to better use the computer to maximize work efforts.
What do we mean by computing environments??
Computing environments basically refer to the hardware that the operating systems of a device use. These environments may include the data storage devices and computer machinery that supports the processing and sharing of information. There are many different types of computer environments some of which are, personal computing environment, time-sharing computing environment, client-server computing environment, distributed computing environment, cloud computing environment, and clustered computing environment. I will now proceed to discuss some of the types of the computing environments.
1. Personal computing environment.
In personal computing environment as can be realized from the name involve a single computer belonging to a single person containing all the necessary processes to be executed. For instance, let's take a single well-connected device like a computer with a scanner and printer belonging to an individual, and with this computing environment of the individual, he or she is able to execute all the processes he wants with his single computer. Some examples of personal computing devices are printers, scanners, mobiles, laptops, and many others.
2. Time sharing computing environment.
In this environment, two or more users are sharing a single system at the same time so because of this, the computer processor allocates time to each user to execute his or her process before it moves to the next user to also execute his or her process. This computing environment shares time for every user to execute their important processes at once and not have to wait on other users to finish all their processes before the other. This computing environment makes sure that every user is able to execute their important tasks without having to wait for others to finish all of theirs, just their important processes.
3. Client-server computing environment.
This computing environment works smoothly, as it involves a centralized system called the server where data and information is being stored and is accessed by users. The users can access any information of their choice by making a request for it in the server through a client, which is used, defined the computer and devices that are used to access the server. This environment has advanced on the time-sharing environment rendering the option of waiting null.
4. Distributed computing environment.
This computing environment is made up of a number of nodes that are stored separately and are used to store data and information. I believe the term referred to this type of computing environment is decentralization. Decentralization is a system where data are stored in different nodes or systems so in the case of an issue to one node the other nodes can operate fine and keep data safe, unlike the centralized client-server computing environment.
The various types of computing environment were used and are still in use in the organization that best suit the type of system the organization wish to run. Some of the computing environments are being outdated with most of the attention brewing towards the decentralized and centralized systems, that is the distributed and client-server computing environments. Having knowledge of the computing environment can help you or your organization in deciding the type of environment system to use to promote, secure, and maximize the organization’s profit and save huge company data lost.
