Hello all Zero to Infinity friends

My name is @novaamalia, and it's a pleasure to write again for the Zero to Infinity community that discuss technology, science, and several other informative themes. In my third post to this community, I will participate again in a contest organized by @zero-to-infinity, called Review Contest - I Love Gadgets | Week 9 | 50 Steem prize pool. Hopefully, I can contribute well and be beneficial for all of us.

Gadgets have evolved into a technology that cannot be separated from one's activities or work; frequently, gadgets provide convenience for users as a tool to support activities according to the profession and needs of the device itself. This time I reviewed the Camera, which is my weapon to capture the moments around me and make them more useful by sharing with people around or on social media.

Review Canon EOS 50D

I have a hobby of photography, and this Canon EOS 50D camera has accompanied me for almost five years now the performance provided by this camera is still powerful and worth it to use a few years later. Canon, in my opinion, is a camera brand that is very well known and many professional and novice photographers around the world use it. This Canon EOS 50D camera was released in 2008 and classified as a semi-professional camera type that has a 15.01 MegaPixel whose sturdy body is made of a mixture of magnesium, making this camera more durable than the previous EOS type.

Canon EOS 50D is also equipped with a cleaning sensor where the sensor protects the camera from dirt and dust, but users must still take care not to open the lens in places that are prone to dust. This camera is also built with an LCD and buttons that are easily understood by ordinary users like me with a viewfinder that has 9-point AF with important parameters such as ISO, speed, exposure level, aperture, flash, and several other features that will be useful for photography enthusiasts.

I do not understand the details about the specifications of this camera, because I only use it to take pictures, and also this camera is a birthday gift from my parents. After reading several articles on the internet that talk about this camera, I understand more about the features in the EOS 50D.

With a larger Megapixel (MP), this camera can produce smoother and quality images with more focus points, which will give the image sensor a higher chance of recognizing the part you want to focus on in auto mode more. The results images or videos from this EOS 50D will be maximized if the photographer can maximize the light intensity (ISO) in it and adapt to all light conditions to produce images that will satisfy the photographer.

Because It was a gift and i didn't buy it myself , the age of this camera is already long, the price range based on what I see in the Indonesian online marketplace is IDR 2 to 3 million. Marketplace link

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Has a Megapixel size and a larger sensor so that the image results can be clearer and smoother quality.

  • The Canon EOS 50D has a body that is resistant to splashing water and dust, making it a durable camera even though it has been released for a long time.

  • The screen resolution of the EOS 50D is very sharp and clear for viewing the photos taken, competing with the Canon series after it.

  • This EOS 50D has a lightweight of 730grams when compared to the Canon series such as the EOS 60D.

Cons

  • Canon EOS 50D still uses a non-flip-out LCD screen that makes it difficult for users to take complex pictures.

  • This camera is not equipped with Video Mode which is a very important feature at this time where full HD video resolution is something that is needed.

  • Because this camera is a semi-professional type, this makes the Canon EOS 50D not recommended for users who are new to the world of photography.

  • There are no Slowmotion, timelapse, and autofocus features for videos, which features even exist on smartphones.

Conclusion

Digital cameras are indeed a necessary gadget for those who work or have a hobby of photography, and with the development of technology, even smartphones have camera features and resolution that can compete with even professional digital cameras.

However, using a digital camera will indeed be different from using a smartphone, few features and functions are still not provided by some smartphones, and in the world of professional photography, photographers still use separate cameras for their work.
