It’s another beautiful time for family bonding. Join me on my bindings activities with no one else but sis. Yea, the only family member around for now. It would have been great if we were more but what ought to be done ought to be done. So let’s bond.

The bonding activities we choose was story telling. Well, who doesn’t love to tell stories and who doesn’t enjoy a good story on a boring day. A boring day it was actually and hence we decided to spice it up with some stories.

To make it memorable, we had to go down the path of history. Growing up we have always enjoyed folk lores from mum as we would always surround her after dinner night after night to hear some stories from her.

Explain how it was done in details including any financial involvement both in your local currency and in steem

We had time reminiscing on those child hood stories from mum as we took turned to tell our favorite part of the stories as they are peculiar to us. We told the stories in turn while the other person listen, interjects and react based on where they love the most.

The tortoise was our favourite character. I told of how he got his broken shell through greed. During a famine season in the animal kingdom, he had begged his friend hawk to show him the secret of his robost health in the famine.

My story time

The hawk took him to the other birds which lent him some feathers. They usually take name to attend the feast and the tortoise took all of you as his name. In the feast that served them food and said it was for all of you. The tortoise told the another animals that it was his name and that the food was for only him.

He greedily ate all the food and that got the birds angry. They took all their feathers from him. He had to jump from the sky after asking them to tell his wife to bring out the soft things in the house for him to land up. They told her the opposite which made him land on the hard things and broke into pieces.

It took the kindness of the snail the village herbalist to glue the pieces of his shells together and that’s why he has broken shells till today. Teaching us to avoid greediness and trying to out smart others.

Sis told about the tortoise too and the dancing palm tree. How he scared the villagers in the market through the dancing palm tree and stole their goods. Later he was caught through the sticky stature and was punished for his greediness and evil deeds.

The tortoise had always been a figure that amazed us as kids and reminiscing on all that childhood stories was fun. We didn’t have any financial cost attached to our bonding time. Stories don’t cost a thing. Not when you are telling it with family.

What are the challenges of getting everyone together to do it and how did you overcome those challenges?

We didn’t have any challenges with our bonding time. It was a boring day, so what’s best way to fix our boredom than a good story and bonding time.

We had to reach a conclusion on which path we wanted to follow on our story time and she suggested folk lores. An opportunity to reminisce about childhood and so we hit it off.

What are the gains and who truly enjoyed this chosen activity the most

Both of us enjoyed the moment of our story telling. Each of us had fun telling stories of our child hood days. The stories had us laughing heartily as the memories came rushing back. I also love the part where we had to remember some key details about the stories that the other person is missing out on.

It’s like the whole memories came rushing back as we diligently pieced the pieces of history back together. A time of beautiful bonding and pure joy. Part of our gains is that we had a good time to laugh with each other and especially about the characters involved in our stories.

So we did not just bond, we beat boredom and also has a good laugh while walking down childhood memory lane. It was a good time of bonding indeed.
