Memory Game Challenge with Steemians — The First Trimester Challenge 01
There's fun in playing with Steemians who have the same interest as you do. We call it a healthy competition. So henceforth while sharing my gaming experiences, I'll be sharing how I competed with Steemians in playing a particular game. When you involve yourself in such a healthy competition, you find joy in playing whatever game and you'll be definitely serious with it. Games are interesting when played with people. So the Steemians I have on board to play with include;
| @yourguybami026 | @teejay005 |
|---|
These two Steemians competed with me some hours ago. And we did this play on video call so as not to cheat ourselves. We played memory game and you know how swift you need to be when playing this game. It requires a lot of brain work as the name implies. The rules of our competition gameplay were;
- You can't play more than thrice
- You must share your scores and get the highest from the 3
- A score below 1000 points means you failed the game.
Getting our starter on track |
|---|
We had a starter as I didn't want to start first. @yourguybami026 was the first to start this competitive game. Let me give details to how he played and how his gaming experience was. He started out by logging in to the game and you know that tension of tapping play because once you do, it starts counting immediately. Now let's look at his stats for the first try.
| Time | 1 minute, 58 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 30 |
| Perfect match | 10 |
| Score | 1381 |
For someone to play this game under 2 minutes isn't bad enough, but it is late. He made 30 moves while trying to open those cards. From what we saw, he felt the tension of opening multiple cards without finding a match and his time was going. His opening multiple cards at a fast pace is what made him get 30 moves. Points were added to him for his moves. That was his highest for the first leg.
- He said this was his second time playing the game and hasn't really mastered it. I told him as long as Memory Game is concerned, you cannot always prepare physically to get it right. All you need to do is make use of your eyes and brain. That's the only way you can get it right. So even if someone is to play it now for the first time, the second try would be better and guess what? He nailed it.
Second Leg |
|---|
He improved greatly in his second play. Definitely, one may not be conscious during the first play, but would be too conscious during his second play. So he played and improved his stats. He improved on his time and moves and these added good points for him. Let's talk about the moves.
I think he applied precision and caution when playing to avoid opening cards unnecessarily. He made use of his eyes and mind as this game is a mind game. His time reduced and his moves as well. This made him drive up to *1446. Could this be the highest? It was really far off from the first score, though not in hundreds.
| Time | 1 minute, 33 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 26 |
| Perfect Match | 10 |
| Score | 1446 |
Compared to his first play, the score he got higher points was in moves. He did a great job. He smashed his third play which happens to be the highest of them all.
Third Play |
|---|
In his third play, he shocked me. It was as if he was collecting data in every play and learning new strategies. His moves reduced and his time reduced as well. Quite incredible. These added points to him. Let's check his stats.
| Time | 1 minute 11 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 24 |
| Score | 1488 ✅✅ Highest |
Now let's check this guy @teejay005 |
|---|
@teejay005 happens to be my next rival. He played like someone who's an expert in the game. In his first play, he smashed a score higher than @yourguybami first play. He had a calculated time of 1 minute 27 seconds to show he managed his time very well at this point and his moves were calculated too, though very close to the 30 the first player had. His stats.
| Time | 1 minute, 37 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 27 |
| Score | 1432 |
- He said his experience was breathtaking and he could feel the tension of competition on his feet. He said some of the characters were just so annoying to find and it was as if he could just hit them hard as physical objects after finding their match.
Second Play |
|---|
Everyone kept becoming the best version of themselves. Will this be said of me? In his second game, he reduced the number of moves to 22. Quite incredible. Even his time was reduced by 3. His reduced moves are the ones that really added weight to his score. His said in his second play, the tension was even more than the first. He said everyone's beating their old score and he shouldn't be an exception. He nailed it with this stat.
| Time | 1 minute 34 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 22 |
| Score | 1485 |
He beat the score of the first player in his second leg. I was even more tensed because I felt maybe this thing may not work for me if I try. I may become the last in the competition with each player's high score taken into consideration. His third play was even madder.
@teejay005 third play |
|---|
A whopping 18 moves. How come? His time was way higher but his moves gave him enough points to make this high score. I think that's what he learnt and that's what I learnt too. All my scores must be higher than theirs — I said to myself. 18 moves was wow. If he had a lower countdown, he would have probably reached 1600. This was his stats.
| Time | 1 minute 49 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 18 |
| Score | 1510 |
@bossj23 — Third player |
|---|
Playing as the last man standing was just full of tension. I wanted to win or even be second, but I didn't know my fate. I had to study those characters with my eyes before leaping. Let's see my stats for the first game. My target was to get fewer moves since it brought a lot of points to the scoreboard. I felt what they felt during the gameplay. It was difficult to be honest. My first gameplay was perfect but the rest were bullshits as if I knew that this would happen. Anyways, let's see the stats....
First gameplay:
| Time | 59 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 24 |
| Score | 1500 |
It annoyed me that I got a lower countdown but couldn't improve in my moves.
Second gameplay
| Time | 1 minute |
|---|---|
| Moves | 27 |
| Score | 1469 |
It was constantly going down with increased moves. See me thinking my last gameplay would be incredible. It was worse
Third gameplay
| Time | 1 minute 21 seconds |
|---|---|
| Moves | 36 |
| Score | 1365 |
*So who's leading now?

Scoreboard |

| @teejay05 | 1510 |
|---|---|
| @bossj23 | 1500 |
| @yourguybami026 |
Every competition has a winner and it goes to @teejay005. I promise to have a rematch with him soon. I learnt a lot from the gameplay of these two players.
My General Experience |
|---|
It wouldn't have been much fun playing alone. I got to learn from two Steemians and how they played. The interactions, hype and motivation to play fast and smart made my gaming experience one of the best this year. We'll definitely have a rematch and this time, it would be much fun than the last time.
