SEC-S17W2: Family and leisure activities.

As keen and conscious members of society, we have many tasks to perform. One set of tasks is time-bound and mandatory to complete within a set timeframe, including official work. On the other hand, some tasks are equally important but can be performed in spare time at ease, anywhere, without specific rules or regulations, like time frames.

Leisure activities are performed in spare time and include various activities depending on the choices and interests of individuals. In my family, different members have different opinions and preferences for leisure activities. My father is least interested in leisure activities, and my mother has developed similar preferences; it seems like she has imbibed them from my father. My elder brother is very jolly and interested in outdoor leisure activities.

My sister and wife are somewhere between my father and my brother, so they form an intermediate category of individuals. After discussing the preferences of everyone in the context of leisure activities, I am yet to discuss one individual of my family, and that's none other than me. As for me, I like to spend leisure time engaging in indoor activities like playing games and watching shows. I enjoy playing indoor activities like chess or carrom and watching shows like comedy, action, and politics.

My brother enjoys outdoor leisure activities by visiting tourist spots, parks, zoos, camping sites, and playing outdoor games like cricket, volleyball, and indoor activities like table tennis and snooker. Looking back at our priorities for leisure activities, it's clear that we are poles apart. This variation in preferences for leisure activities may depend on intrinsic interests as well as the company of friends, etc.

My wife and sister do visit outdoor sites but prefer indoor activities the least. I do enjoy outdoor leisure activities like visiting tourist spots with friends and pilgrimage sites with family. When I go out of state with family, we visit zoos, monuments, parks, and other historical places. We also watch movies and family shows. Besides, females enjoy exploring new dishes at different places.

I often tell my mom not to exert herself in the kitchen garden but instead to take rest, but she never agrees with me on this point. I see it as work, and she sees it as a leisure activity. Sometimes, I also think that instead of lying idle, she should keep busy with the kitchen garden. My wife also enjoys working in our own park and helps my mom in the kitchen garden.

The least liked leisure activity by all of my family members except me is reading extracurricular subjects. I enjoy reading novels, fictions, biographies, quotes, and famous sayings. Another activity that I like is listening to the stories of great personalities and learning lessons from them.
