Hello great steemian trust you are doing well, each day we have new users signing up, Making post in steemit and as such they don't really understand how to power up. So in my post today I will explain the importance of power up, how to change your SBD to steem and how to power up.

What is power up

Power up is a process of converting steem to steem power. Steempower is a token which tells you how much influence you have on this platform, it also helps you earn on curation. So any time you increase your steempower, you will increase your influence and your upvote value will increase, adding more value to people's post when you upvote them.

Important of steempower

Increasing your steempower through powering up, gives us influence in the platform and most importantly you earn curation reward. So by saying this I mean that each time you vote on people's post you will earn extra steems. The higher your steem power, the higher earnings you will have so you can see why it is important to power up at all time, you will earn high, It also help in strengthening steem ecosystem.

HOW TO CHANGE SBD TO STEEM

To change SBD to steem first of all login to your wallet if you haven't done that yet. Login with private posting key and your user name.

Let me take you to my wallet, this is the SBD I want to change to steem

• Click on the drop down arrow besides the figure

• A pop up will appear, click on market

• On clicking Market, a new page will be open, go to where you see buy steem with a green colour. Click on available

• Once you click on available, the two boxes seen up there will be filled automatically, the total amount of steem you are changing to and the total amount of SBD you are changing. The buy steem option will be highlighted too so you click on buy steem.

• A new page will open asking you to confirm your transaction with your private active key.

  

• Once you are done, wait for few minutes and refresh your wallet, the amount you change will appear on your wallet under STEEM

HOW TO POWER UP

After changing your SBD to steem you can now power up using the following steps.

This is my wallet before power up, take note of the figures.

• To power up, click the drop down arrow besides the figures, pop up will appear, click on power up

• It will take you to a new page, type in the number of steems you want to power up

** The power up option is highlighted,click on it, another page will appear asking you for your password to confirm the transaction add your private active key then your steem will be moved to steem power**

The steps are very simple, please avoid being missed out by the curators because of not belonging to any club, Power up your earnings every month to be in a club.

• To be in clu5050 ; power up 50% of your earnings and withdraw 50%, do not withdraw all your earnings.

• To be in club75 ; power up 75%of your earnings and withdraw 25% .

• To be in club100 ; power up 100% of your earnings in steemit, do not withdraw any to remain in the club.
