Hey Steemit members. I am @elsa-queen. I am back with another delicious recipe. I am going to share the recipe of sweet jaggery rice. This is a traditional and tasty dish. It is easy to make at home. Jaggery gives the rice a natural sweetness and a wonderful flavor. I also add raisins and almonds to make it more delicious. This recipe is perfect for family gatherings. Lets see how I prepared this flavorful sweet jaggery rice step by step.

First I prepared the jaggery water. I washed the jaggery thoroughly. Then added it to a pan with one mug of water. After that I cooked it on medium flame for about 8 minutes until the jaggery completely dissolved. It formed a smooth water (chashni).

I cooked it for about 8 minutes on medium flame. While it was cooking. I kept stirring it continuously. So that it would not stick to the bottom of the pan. After a few minutes. The jaggery dissolved completely in the water. In this way I prepared the jaggery mixture for the sweet jaggery rice.

Then I added water to another pan. I used the amount of water according to my preference. After that I covered the pan. I let the water heat up. When the water started boiling. I washed the rice thoroughly. I add it to the pan for cooking.

When the rice started cooking. I added two tablespoons of ghee. I let the rice cook properly. But I made sure not to overcook it. When the rice is almost done. Only a little cooking is left. I draine the excess water. I transfer the rice to a basket ๐งบ. It is important not to make the rice too soft. Just cook it until it is nearly done. Then remove it from the water.

Then I added some ghee to a pan. Then added fennel seeds. I lightly fried them for a short time. They became fragrant. After that I added the jaggery mixture. That I had prepared earlier. I had already strained it. So I poured the strained jaggery mixture into the pan. Then I mix everything well.

When the jaggery mixture started boiling. I added the partially cooked rice to it. After adding the rice. I mixed everything. So that the jaggery mixture coated all the rice evenly. Then I covered the pan. I let the rice cook on low flame for about 15 minutes. This allow the rice to absorb all the sweetness and flavor of the jaggery.

After ten to fifteen minutes besties. The sweet jaggery rice is fully cooked and ready to serve. I transferred it to a serving plate. I garnished it with almonds and raisins. The rice looked very delicious and aromatic. Finally I enjoyed this tasty homemade sweet jaggery rice with my family.
