The Magic of a Moment: A Steemit Reunion in Abakaliki.

They say that picture speaks a thousand stories, but in some cases, a picture does even more: it keeps a feeling that otherwise would be watered down over the course of time. A small group of us were present at a Steemit meetup in the vibrant heart of the city of Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, on November 6 th, 2022. Looking back at these photos now, I am also reminded that we can always capture many more pictures but we can never really replicate the rawness and the connection of a certain moment in time.

The Faces of the Community
And as you all can see in the first picture, the entire group sitting in the shade of an outdoor lounge. We have a feeling of achievement in our positions. It was not a group of friends having fun but digital pioneers in our local community, talking about the blockchain, content creation and the future of decentralized social media. The logo in my friends clothes is a spotlight on the black t-shirt a badge of identity which attracted us all that afternoon and is called Steemit. The mood was one of casual splendor, which was contributed by cold alcohol and the cool Ebonyi breeze.

Connection Through the Lens
The second image is an actual reflection of what these meetups entail as far as collaboration is concerned. We are looking around a smartphone and probably talking about a new post, the latest market trends or explaining to a new member how to use their wallet. This is not a posed photograph, this is a working photograph. It embodies the interest and the collective education that the Steemit experience entails.

Beyond the Pixels
These photographs record those moments which our eyes would have missed in the clatter of the day--as the light fell upon the patio, as this or that particular smile of a friend who has since departed, or the mere pleasure of a glass of juice with a friend one Sunday afternoon.

This is not the first time that people gathered in Abakaliki and it was not only about crypto, but about humanity. It was regarding constructing a physical bridge to a digital world. The photos have become the treasure as they make us remember that behind every one of our posts, and even every upvote is hiding an actual person, who has a story, a smile, and hopes of a brighter future.

Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @goodybest, @abdullahw2 and @mesola to participate.
