Growing in faith, one Sunday at a time

Sundays are usually special times set aside to connect with God and reflect on our lives. It is more than just a day of the week; it is a day to gather, worship, and be reminded of God's love in our lives. And this Sunday was a very, very spiritual one. Our meeting is usually in two parts, and for the first part, a friend, also a brother, gave a 30-minute talk to the congregation. It was a very interesting one. He spoke with confidence, conviction, and boldness. He applied the use of gestures and also modulation where necessary, such that the audience was not bored during his part. I also liked how he made use of the scriptures and laid his references to the Bible. Once he was done, the whole congregation gave a thunderous applause to commend him for his time well spent.

For the second part, we learned a very important lesson on the reason why we need ransom. For those who might be wondering, the ransom is the death of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who died to redeem us from sin and death.
It was one of the most touching topics I have had in my life since this year started.
The whole congregation sat down as one person while this part lasted. I would love to just highlight the subheadings. We learned how:

1. The ransom can provide us forgiveness
2. How the ransom provides healing
3. How the ransom provides reconciliation with God

The whole meeting lasted for an hour and forty-five minutes (1hr 45 mins) and ended with song and prayer.
