First time attending a convocation ceremony

‎I've never really attended a convocation before, so when my school was deciding to host one... I decided that I would at least chip in and see how it is being done.

‎So we had already agreed that on that Friday we would be going, originally I wasn't very keen on going but I had many other school stuffs to run before when I go.
‎
‎So that day I woke up a bit late, my brother was going to school quite early but he had already gotten ready, I didn't have much to prepare for him, simply a meal that wasn't that time consuming which I did and he got going.
‎
‎The occasion was starting by 10am so they said but you all know as Nigerians and our African time, it'll probably start by 12pm.
‎
‎So we weren't exactly rushing, we didn't wanna be the first. I was going with my cousins. We all wanted to go and eat rice, so we thought.

‎What surprised me was when my mom said that as a lecturer she was going to also be wearing the gown. It was surprising though but I shrugged the thought away and continued getting ready... I wanted to wear a pink top, it's cute but it's been a while i wore it so I just decided to.

‎While getting ready, the Weather started changing slowly and I started shaking my head because I knew excited what was coming next, the rain that fell the next 20 minutes was crazy, we had to quickly close all the windows to avoid water entering the house, since it was getting boring and during all the downpour, they enabled our power supply and quickly went and charged my power bank because it was very low, I was almost feeling as though we wouldn't be able to go anymore because of the rain, but my mom said the rain will stop and we would still be able to go.

‎Soon the rain stopped and we called our cousins to start coming out, that took a while and soon the water that was everywhere dried up and we went ahead to meet them, we all felt like walking so we all started walking towards the junction, when we got to where we would pick up a taxi, there was none forthcoming so we still decided to wait, while waiting I still took some pictures.

‎We then gave up the wait and started walking down to the main junction where we would pick up a taxi too.
‎We got there soon and we got the the school soon.
‎
‎In school I didn't head straight to the convocation ceremony because they hadn't started, I headed to my lecture hall where we usually stayed. Most of my coursemates weren't there because it wasn't a really serious school day.
‎
‎I just stayed with some of them and did a particular assignment that I hadn't done since.
‎
‎Then I headed to the convocation ceremony when the were doing the procession, the video is below.
‎It was actually a fun occasion the joy on all their faces.
‎
‎The Governor was Even present to grace the occasion, all of them wore matriculation gowns. After all they've graduated from different schools.
‎
‎The gave first degree students automatic jobs and gave 1 million naira each to the graduating students. It was kind of a motivation for us all to graduate with such high scores.
‎
‎It was fun, but unfortunately no rice, it wasn't funny for my cousins at all, but I found everything so amusing and even took pictures where I was laughing.
‎

‎It was a really interesting day for me at least I had my first experience attending a convocation... Soon we all got home and retired to bed.
