week--28|| My Weekly Food Highlight

I always strive to create diverse content, which is why I am here today with a new post. Today, I will share the best meals I had this week, along with my thoughts and feelings about them. Food is always a fascinating topic. I extend my sincere thanks to @ngoenyi for organizing such a wonderful contest. So, let’s get started—

I currently live in a student hostel, so I often miss my mother's cooking dearly. However, when I visited home last week, I thoroughly enjoyed some of the dishes she prepared—they were incredibly delicious, flavorful, and nutritious; nothing compares to them. I also enjoyed some meals back at the hostel. While hostel food may not always be gourmet, it is certainly healthy. All in all, I truly enjoyed this week as I got to savor a variety of wonderful new dishes.

Thursday(breakfast)

(Rice, aloo posto, mango chutney, and papad)

Every Thursday, our breakfast includes Aloo Posto (potatoes in poppy seed paste) served with rice, alongside mango chutney and papad. Although the type of chutney varies according to the season, I am not particularly fond of the Posto dish—even though it is quite expensive and beneficial for the body.

Friday(breakfast and Lunch)

(Rice, spicy potato curry (Aloo Dum), mashed potatoes (Aloo Bhorta), and red lentil dal)

For breakfast on Friday, I had Aloo Dum. This Aloo Dum recipe pairs well with Luchi, Roti, Paratha, Kachori, or even rice; I, however, ate it with rice. For lunch, I had rice, mashed potatoes (Aloo Bhorta), and red lentil dal (Masoor Dal). Red lentil dal is rich in protein and highly beneficial for health. I quite enjoy having mashed potatoes every now and then.

Saturday(Lunch)

(Rice,Fried Tilapia with jackfruit seeds and fried Pangas fish with onions)

For Saturday lunch, I had fried tilapia with jackfruit seeds alongside rice. Just as the tilapia was delicious, the jackfruit seeds were incredibly tasty too—they have a mildly sweet flavor. I also had fried Pangas fish with onions; the dish included the fish's roe and oil, making it very flavorful. My mother prepared these dishes, and since Pangas is a favorite of mine, I really enjoyed the meal.

sunday(Dinner)

(Khichdi Recipe)

For Sunday dinner, I had khichuri, which is my absolute favorite dish. Since it was raining heavily that day, khichuri was prepared at the hostel—and it is truly delightful to eat on a rainy day. Although we usually make it at home using atap rice (aromatic, short-grain rice), the hostel version is made with parboiled rice. Regardless, it is cooked with a combination of rice, lentils, pumpkin, potatoes, and pointed gourd, making it a very healthy meal.

I hope you all will like my post today. I will be back with a new topic tomorrow, until then, everyone stay well and healthy.
