I love reading, I read whenever I want and when i have free time and i read different kinds of books such as history books, science books, sometimes even magazines, newspaper and novel. Reading is fun and one of the easiest way to get knowledge. One thing I have learned through out my life is the benefits of reading and in the world today, especially with the current generation (Gen Z), we often find ourselves lost in the screen of our phones endlessly scrolling, watching or doing one thing or the other and I think that many of us are missing out on what reading books can really do.


Many people often tag reading books as doing homework and school, or they simply see it as boring and uninteresting activity and I have to disagree with that. Reading is fun, it can take you places where you imagine, live vicariously through characters and most importantly aids learning. There are different kinds of books and story for everyone, you can read any fiction or non fiction stories of any kind or any kind of subgenre you imagine such as action, adventure, comics, classics, horror, fantasy and so Many more. The benefits of reading do not just end at entertainment and pleasure, they are many mental and physical benefit to reading.

Reading develops your brain, increases your vocabulary and pronunciation, reduce stress and even assist in a better night sleep. Nowadays, many people are seen staring at the screen all day this is not only bad for your eye but also is bad for your brain function and sleeping habit. Reading helps to enhance the students ability to learn and also have certain knowledge.

For most children reading becomes a leisure activity when they are encouraged to read by their parents or when their parents read for them. Parents are children's role model to assist and develop the interest of reading in them, because it is through the parents which the children will learn how to speak, talk and read correctly. I found out that when I read a certain book and I see a word I don't understand I go to my dictionary and check it out, this helps me understand the word better and improves my learning giving me knowledge of some words.
