Pictures tell a thousand stories...Wk-35.
I invite all my Steemit friends to my new blog. I hope everyone is well. Alhamdulillah, I am well too. I will be presenting a picture and the story of the picture in the "Pictures Tell a Thousand Stories" competition organized by Steem Kids and Parents community moderator @fortwis09. Thank you very much for organizing this great competition. I am very happy to participate in the competition. Without further ado, let's get to today's story.
In the above picture you can see the shrine of Lalon Shah, a heritage site of Kushtia. Lalon Shah's shrine is located in the village of Cheuria in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district. It is the burial place of Baul emperor Lalon Shah and is known as his Akhra. It is the center for the propagation of Lalon's songs, philosophy and humanity, every year Lalon Mela is held here and his devotees throng here for pilgrimage and sadhana.
After the death of Lalon Shah, the shrine came into existence due to the arrival of Lalon devotees. The present shrine was built in 1963 for Lalon devotees. It houses the tomb of Lalon Shah and also plays an important role in the spread of Baul music. Every year, a huge Bhandara is organized here, where numerous visitors and devotees from home and abroad gather.
The shrine of Lalon Shah is the epicenter of the philosophy, music and humanistic thought of the Baul emperor Lalon Shah. The shrine serves as an important place for the preservation and propagation of Baul music and culture. Lalon's shrine is not just a tomb, it is a vast spiritual and cultural heritage that continues to inspire people even today. Devotees and followers gather at the shrine and perform Baul songs to keep the tradition of the Baul emperor alive.
