Today, I will be sharing with you on my culinary skills about how to prepare "Water leaf Stew". I know most of us here haven't heard about this very recipe. But, just keep reading and learn;

Meaning Of Water leaf Stew

Firstly, before we dive in on how to prepare this very stew, let's first know the meaning of it's term. "Water leaf" can refer to any plant belonging to the genus Hydrophyllum within the waterleaf family. Water leaf also known as “blood-pumping machine” plays a vital role in the adequate production of blood in the human body. It is suitable for pregnant women as it helps increase their blood levels and supply them with other vital nutrients that the body needs. Also, it is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which aids in digestion, weight management, and overall well-being.

Steps On How To Prepare Water Leaf Stew

Preparing Water leaf stew is a very good, fast, and easy food anyone could cook, including the kids and parents. Below here are the easy and few steps in making it;

Ingredients Needed;
• Vegetable Oil.
• Onion.
• Tomatoes.
• Water leaf.
• Creyfish.
• Maggi.
• Salt.
• Smoked fish or any fish of your choice.

Step 1:
• Firstly, I put my pot on fire, allowed it to heat a little, then added my vegetable oil.

Step 2:
Next, I added my already sliced onions and stir.

Step 3:

• Before now, I peeled my water leaf, wash it, cut it, and put it in a bowl. So, next, I added the water leaf into the pot and covered for it to heat for some while.

Step 4:
• I allowed it to heat for like 2-3 minutes, then added my tomatoes. This particular tomatoes has it's way of bringing a very great and good taste to one's food. It's advisable for everyone to use this tomatoes for great and more taste.

Step 5:
• Next, I added my crayfish which was already pounded.

Step 6:
• Then, I put my fresh pepper for more taste.

Step 7:
• Next, I added my seasoning cubes.

Step 8:
• I added a little salt to it. Finally, your water leaf stew is ready..!! How it does it look guys? Salivating right? Deep down, it looks like soup, but if you have a taste of it, you will enjoy every bite.

This water leaf stew goes with a combo of rice, spaghetti, yam, potatoes, macroni, plantain, etc. But as for me, I love to take this stew with white rice. So, I went ahead to boil my rice by washing it, sieving it and made sure it was soft and done. So I carried the portion I can finish and added my stew to it. So, here's the final outcome.
